POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

When Helene struck the town of Clyde, its most valuable asset wasn’t the swift water rescue boats or the flood alert system. It was, and still is, Joy Garland, Clyde’s ever-faithful town administrator of 33 years.

Garland has shepherded her town not just through Helene but through Ivan and Francis in 2004 and Fred in 2021. Even after living in Clyde her entire life, she has never seen anything quite like Helene.

“The last two years have been the hardest two years of my career,” she said.

Now, Garland’s biggest undertaking yet as the town’s administrator sits before her: assembling Clyde’s future.

A week in Mexico City shooting for @apnews

No words will be able to describe the energy in CDMX while Mexico played South Africa in the opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. After Mexico won 2-0 fans flooded the streets celebrating, continuing even when it started pouring rain.

For my first professional assignment as a photojournalist, it couldn’t have gotten better than this. I can’t wait to see what comes next in Canada!

My first roll of film! Using a Canon Rebel 2000 I found in my parent’s basement. I have a lot to learn but I had a blast capturing my family’s travels from Atlanta to Massachusetts and back! by @sydneysreports
