New Art Projects is delighted to present the first UK exhibition by NYC-based sculptor Bill Albertini: Baroque-O-Vision Redux, a site-specific installation at the gallery!

PV: Thursday, 3rd April | 6-9pm
3rd April — 24th May, 2025

Bill Albertini’s “Pipe Dream System”, an evolving body of work since 2017, is built on a growing catalogue of modular components designed for flexible assembly, adapting to different spaces. His process balances slow, methodical design with fast, intuitive construction, reflecting a non-linear studio diary. The works blend functionality and ambiguity, with elements that appear practical yet resist clear definition. Drawing on baroque influences from his earlier work, Albertini merges historical ornamentation with contemporary installation, using computer modeling and 3D printing to create elaborate sculptures that exist between the mechanical, functional, imaginary, and organic.

Note for editors: Albertini has been using computer technology to fashion his work since the early 1990s. He received his MFA from Yale University and studied in both Ireland and England as an undergraduate. He has shown extensively in New York, including at White Columns and Jack Tilton Gallery, as well as nationally and internationally. His work has been reviewed in major publications including The New York Times, Artforum, Art in America, and Brooklyn Rail.

Bill Albertini’s ,Baroque-O-Vision Redux marks the 5th year anniversary of the Glen Hansen Studio. The exhibition will be up for 3 months with a closing party on Saint Patrick’s Day and will start a tradition of giving a sculptor the freedom of creating something in the space. Special thanks to Charles A. Riley II PhD for his essay, Conduit to the Baroque and to the great artist community of the North Fork for their support. by @sylviabbb
