There exists a bounty on earth that’s so vast, varied, and plentiful that you could try a new fruit every day and never experience everything there is to experience. Flavors so exotic that they surprise you by how much you love their strangeness. Textures so creamy and rich, you can’t finish a whole fruit. Berries that magically make lemons sweeter than lemonade. Once you try them, your life may completely change. You may find yourself driven to relocate your home just to taste them again, as they bring a primal sense of something we’ve all but lost. Something humanity must not lose - our truest of foods and our symbiotic relationship with nature.

The beauty you see here has a specific name. It’s called biophilia. It’s a deep appreciation for nature that’s hardwired into us. It becomes incredibly apparent when looking at fruit because it’s a food we have a long standing relationship with. Millions of years and still going strong.
🥭
It is widely accepted in the scientific community that the reason we developed the ability to see color is to be able to identify ripe fruits on the trees. In fact, our entire body is designed largely around fruit consumption. Our limbs climb trees, our hands pick and peel, our teeth bite and chew fruit in a way that typical omnivores cannot. And of course, our tongues find it sweet and pleasant, where as carnivores don’t have the ability to taste sweetness.
🍍
If you think you don’t like fruit, you simply have never had a perfectly ripe one grown with love. A human who doesn’t like fruit is as impossible as a dolphin who doesn’t like fish, or a panda who doesn’t like bamboo.
🥝
There are mangos that taste like pizza. Durians that taste like creamy butterscotch peanut butter. There are dabai that taste like mashed potatoes with olive oil. Tarap that taste like bubble gum. White mangos, red oranges, purple passionfruit. You can’t just try a few industrialized supermarket green apples and pretend that thousands of different flavors and textures must also be unpleasant.
🍓
Not trying to call anyone out. Just here to encourage everyone to try new things and perhaps begin to see old things in a new light.
🍋 ☀️
This photo was taken in Borneo at the tail end of their most abundant fruit season. This is only a small handful of fruits available in this exotic fruit-rich place.

Imagine if bees decided one day that flower nectar was no longer their preferred species-specific food source. What havoc would that wreak on their finely-tuned purpose-filled lives?
Not to mention the countless organisms & ecosystems that depend on the bee's symbiotic relationship with flowering plants.
🌺🐝
This strange hypothetical scenario is not unlike what has actually happened to humans, fruit, & subsequently, the world around us.
🙋‍♂️
Here we are, we make sure our cars run on a very specific combination of chemicals, because we know doing so has a profound affect on our car's ability, performance, and longevity.
In fact, we don't even allow poor quality fuels to be sold to consumers. Yet, we treat our bodies without that same respect and reverence. Imagine if eating junk food was recognized as being as utterly backwards as putting Pepsi in your station wagon's fuel tank.
🚗
We humans are just a few generations in. Mental and physical disease are skyrocketing. Ill health and environmental destruction are the norm. Make no mistake, we are on the fast-track to utter insanity, if we haven't reached some level of it already.
💩 🧠
Our reality is garbage patches surrounded by factory farms, hazmat-suited men spraying monocrops with pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides, and hospitals full of people who are dying from diet-related disease.
🏥
We have accepted this as normal. We have accepted the idea that we are parasites on this planet, and death and destruction are just an equation of human population + earth and it's inhabitants.
💀
I claim this as false. We are not parasites, we are just acting as if we are. We are quite the opposite, in fact. We are designed to have a symbiotic relationship with fruit-bearing plants. The packaging of our food is designed not to create landfills, but to build healthy soil through composting. Our fuel is not meant to leave us sleepy, thirsty and brain-fogged, but hydrated, energized and clear. We need not houses of slaughter, but orchards of paradise. We are not meant to be some kind of cancer on this planet. Not only do we fit in, we fit in beautifully.

IT’S HERE! 🥹💚 Our official 2026 Vegan Wellness Retreat recap.

Five unforgettable days, 350 unforgettable people, and one very special week in beautiful Northern Michigan that we’ll never forget.

This past June, you came from all over the country (and the world) to learn, rest, reconnect, laugh, move, eat incredible food, try new things, make new friends, and create lasting memories.

From mornings by the lake and adventurous days to inspiring speakers, nourishing meals, late night conversations, belly laughs, hugs, breakthroughs, and deep friendships that started with a simple “hello”… this week was about so much more than a retreat.

It was about connection.

2026 may have been our final year at this beautiful property, but we couldn’t have imagined a better way to close this chapter.

To each and every one of you who trusted us with five days of your lives and traveled near and far to be there: THANK YOU.

YOU are what makes Vegan Wellness Retreats what it is.

We also want to extend a huge thank you to our incredible photographer/videographer @symbioticsolutions for capturing the essence of this week so vividly. Now we can cherish these moments, again and again, for years to come 🥹

To everyone who was there, we hope this brings back all the memories.

To everyone who hasn’t experienced VWR yet… this is what it feels like💚

And while one chapter has ended, the next is already beginning…

In 2027, we’re heading to TWO incredible new locations: the Texas Hill Country in March, then Northern Michigan in September at a new property for our biggest, most adventure-filled Michigan retreat yet.

New locations, new experiences, and new memories… with the same incredible community at the heart of it all.

Turn the sound on, press play, and relive 2026 alongside us 💚

Remember folks, if you aren't actively researching and educating yourself about how the world works, the tech oligarch's algorithms are doing it for you. by @symbioticsolutions

Kinda chic to refuse to contribute to the marginalization of the most marginalized beings on planet earth. by @symbioticsolutions

To live is to disrupt.

We can use that as an excuse not to care — everything causes harm anyway, so fuck it.

Or we can let that reality make us more conscious.

Maybe the real disruption is refusing the norm of carelessness. Living as lightly as we can. Doing the least harm we can. And trying to leave something better behind us. by @symbioticsolutions

Also, why do I only post on here when I'm massively sleep deprived and looking like shit? Oh well. by @symbioticsolutions

As I scroll through the photos from this past week, I’m honestly blown away.
The smiles, the laughter, the connections, the movement, the incredible food, the friendships old and new—it all reminds me why we do this. Seeing hundreds of people come together from across the United States and around the world to celebrate health, wellness, community, and joy is something I’ll never take for granted.
To every guest, volunteer, speaker, chef, vendor, and team member: thank you. Thank you for trusting us with your time, your energy, and your memories. The moments we shared this week are the kind that last a lifetime.
A very special thank you to @symbioticsolutions . He went far above and beyond all week long, capturing the heart and soul of this community. Just look at these photos. The joy, the connection, the energy, the love—he somehow found a way to preserve it all! These aren’t just pictures; they’re memories we’ll cherish for years to come. We are so grateful for the passion, talent, and countless hours he poured into documenting the VWR family!
What started with a small group a few years ago has grown into something far bigger than we ever imagined, and it’s because of each and every one of you!
My heart is full. ❤️
Thank you for being part of this incredible community! We already can’t wait to do it all again and see everyone in Texas this March! by @symbioticsolutions
