Two years of planning… for a day I would do all over again next week. 🤍

When James and I started dreaming about our wedding, I knew exactly how I wanted it to *feel*.

Old Muskoka. A little old money. Romantic, nostalgic, collected—not created overnight.

And maybe the most special part of all was that it quite literally **wasn’t created overnight.**

Our wedding stretched across two family properties on Lake Rosseau, with five generations of family history behind them. These are places that have seen decades of Muskoka summers, family dinners, boats pulling up to the dock, sunsets over the lake and generations growing up together.

There was something incredibly emotional about adding *our* wedding day to that history.

I wanted our guests to feel that nostalgia too—to feel like they were sitting down for dinner at their grandparents’ cottage on Lake Rosseau, surrounded by people they love, with the lake just beyond the table and that unmistakable Muskoka feeling all around them.

So I collected.

Blue Willow plates, one by one. Chinoiserie vases in different shapes and sizes. Bud vases. Candle holders. Little pieces that had absolutely no business taking over as much of our house as they did. 😂

And somehow, on September 26th, it all came together.

Long tables filled with mismatched blue and white china, incredible florals, flickering candlelight and two chandeliers glowing beneath a clear-top tent… sitting on a floating barge on Lake Rosseau.

Because apparently getting married *beside* the lake wasn’t enough for us. We needed to get married ON it. 😂

And then Muskoka gave us the most unbelievable late-September weather and one of those sunsets you couldn’t have ordered if you tried.

The vision may have started in my head, but the people who brought it to life deserve so much love.

Flower Child took my floral vision and absolutely **ran with it**. What Allison created amongst all of those collected vessels was art.

Rosseau Pizzeria somehow managed to serve an incredible dinner on a floating barge—and absolutely knocked it out of the park.
