POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Before September ends, allow me to share the highlight of the month: Beijing Blues Bash.

I still remember seeing the BBB announcement on my way back from Cross Road Blues in Taiwan. One look at the line-up and I thought, “I want to go even if I go by myself.”

And that’s exactly what happened, I went alone to a dance festival for the first time 😅

I didn’t know what to expect, but what I experienced was beyond anything I could have imagined. Through the people I met, the conversations, the laughter, and the dances we shared, God filled my cup with so much love (after few rough weeks before leaving) 🥲

Looking back, all I can say is: thank You, God. For bringing me here, and for the people through whom I really felt taken care of and loved by You ♥️

This post is to celebrate all the people I met and spent time with in BBB, although I missed some people in the pictures but your warmth stays in my heart because sometimes what makes a memory wonderful is not just the event but the people ✨

#beijingbluesbash2026

Cheers to my lunch / dinner gang! (plus Ilman) Thank you for the laughter, the language lessons, and the lovely company around the table. Good food is even better with people like you. ♥️

Special shout out to Leon who walked me home after socials despite the opposite directions. I truly enjoyed our ‘early’ mornings conversations along the walk, the hunting cat spotting 😸 and the 7-11 after parties! 🤣 I know I’ll see you soon since you are basically everywhere! Hahaha

The sexy duo who are certainly giving everyone the blues! 🔥

Thank you for adopting me into Team Taiwan until I finally found the Jakarta sign. 😂 You made this solo traveller feel like she had a team! (and Mas Ilman, I will still claim you as an Indonesian, don’t escape!)

It’s always a delight to meet again with people you haven’t seen for a while! Thanks for trying to include me in the SG gang picture time haha, I truly appreciate the thought and effort despite the failure in timing 😂

Still glad that we managed to squeeze in a picture together. Hope to see you again soon on the dance floor, Owen! ✨

Remember Jaden, I TRUST YOU! 🤣🤣🤣

It’s always a pleasure to see you. Thanks f taken in Beijing, China 北京 by @synamunt

My Story for World Suicide Prevention Day

I know what it feels like to have suicidal thoughts.

People sometimes say, “But you don’t look like someone who would want to kill herself.”

But what does that person look like?

I can smile, laugh, work, meet people and continue with life while struggling with something very different inside. We never fully know the battles someone is fighting simply by looking at them.

I know the desperation of having so much pain inside and not knowing how to express it. I know what it is like to spiral and, in my case, to hurt or cut myself because somehow physical pain became a way of translating what was hurting inside.

I am grateful that I had a friend who cared enough to stay with me and keep me from hurting myself. While also found refuge in my faith.

It wasn’t always peaceful. I struggled with God, questioned, cried and prayed. But in my story, my faith is what saved me.

My experience taught me that people in that dark place don’t always need advice or perfect words. Sometimes they just need someone to sit beside them.

Someone who listens without judging or immediately trying to fix everything. Someone whose presence says, “You are not alone.” Someone who is willing to walk beside them through the dark tunnel until they can begin to see the light again.

Are those thoughts forever gone for me? No. Certain pressures can still trigger them. But now I recognise when I am spiraling, and I know I should not face it alone. I go to the people I know love me and let them help me through it.

Knowing that there is someone on the other side of the line, truly helps.

If you are having suicidal thoughts, please reach out. Tell someone you trust that you need them to stay with you, and let them help you find professional support.

And if someone you love is struggling, please listen. Stay. Take them seriously. Help them stay safe and get the support they need.

Sometimes kindness can look very ordinary like sitting beside someone, listening or checking in and it doesn’t need a lot of words, just presence.

Because what matters is to know that we don’t walk alone.

“Lord, I really don’t feel like it.”

Last week, I came to church tired, running on little sleep and carrying things that had made the week feel heavy.

Our church has a seat booking system, and somehow I couldn’t get my usual aisle seat. Instead, there was one empty seat next to me before the aisle. And an elderly gentleman eventually sat there.

Before the sermon, the pastor mentioned that we would pray for one another afterward. I internally groaned. Honestly, I didn’t feel like praying for someone else that day. I didn’t even know how to pray for myself.

“Lord, please, not today.” I told God and wished the pastor would forget.

At the end of the sermon, of course the pastor remembered and invited anyone who was struggling to raise their hand so those around them could pray.

Quietly, I hoped the elderly gentleman beside me wouldn’t raise his hand.

Not because I didn’t care, but because I felt like I had nothing left to give that day.

Then he raised his hand. “God, no~~” 😭

But then I felt the familiar gentle nudge, “Pray for him.”

So I asked if I could place my hand on his shoulder. He smiled and nodded, then I did and prayed for him.

Somewhere in the middle of that prayer, my heart was deeply moved for him. I started crying and when I finished, I realized he was crying too. So now there were two snotty people sitting next to each other 😅

When the service over, before leaving, he shook my hand, smiled, and thanked me.

Later, I kept thinking about that eldery gentleman and how coincidentally it was for him to sit next to me. Well, maybe sometimes God allows small changes in our plans to become opportunities for someone to experience His love through us.

We don’t always have to feel ready.
We don’t always have to feel like we have enough to give.

Sometimes we simply need to be available when God nudges us because perhaps that small act of obedience is how He chooses to remind someone that day: “I see you. I know what you’re carrying. And you are loved.”

That’s how God is and how He loves to work with us, and somehow when we learn to be obedient despite of our limitations, it becomes an opportunity for us to know His strength in us. by @synamunt

The paper cranes —

I folded a thousand paper cranes
Each carry a wish for you

For the work of your hands, may it be fruitful
For you to always be protected from harm
For wisdom when you need it
For help when things go wrong
For people to carry the burdens with you
For peace that doesn’t make sense when storms come
For hope to keep your heart kind
For light when it’s dark

Then I released them to the ocean
Let the waves carry them to your shore

Then I folded another thousand paper cranes
For myself, for every single time
My heart still whispers your name 🌻 by @synamunt

Recently, I’ve been thinking about Abraham and Isaac.

Isaac wasn’t just the son God had promised after 25 years of waiting. He was also the one Abraham loved. Yet God asked Abraham to place the very thing he loved on the altar.

What struck me wasn’t only the sacrifice—it was the three days journey to the mountain where God asked him to sacrifice Isaac.

The Bible tells us where Abraham walked, but not what he felt, as if the three days were filled with silence.

I wonder if in those three days there were grief and questions that only Abraham and God knew. Because I know there is grief in letting go of what we love and the deeper we love, the deeper we grieve when we’re asked to surrender it.

Perhaps you’ve experienced that too.

Perhaps it was the future you imagined. The dream you longed to see fulfilled. The person you hoped to spend your life with. The plans you had carefully built.

But then God gently whispered, “Let it go.” and your heart just break.

Yet in the story Abraham kept walking, and perhaps, in the silence during the three days, obedience and faith filled the spaces where words could not.

Until Isaac asked, “Where is the lamb for the burnt offering?” Abraham answered, “God Himself will provide.” and in the end of the story, He did.

These past few weeks, I felt God gently reminding me:

“Why are you carrying things that only I can carry? Why are you worrying about your life when your life belongs to Me?”

God never pry our hands, He will wait patiently until we come to Him and surrender what we think as precious. When we place God at the center of our lives—even above the gifts He has given us—we can trust Him with what is most precious to our hearts.

Sometimes He gives it back.

Sometimes He leads us somewhere different.

But He never stops being faithful.

God Himself will provide, for the glory of His name and for the beauty of His kingdom. by @synamunt

Pesta Timuran picaaa sekalii eeee!

Bring back so many memories during my travels to east indonesia. The place that has the best sunrise and sunset, where the people really knows how to party and have fun, where the seafood is freshly caught, where the nature is breathtaking. The place filled with so much warm ♥️ (just a little secret, I used to wish I was born as an eastern indonesian 😂)

The vibes making me missing riding the local bus with speakers bigger than life, playing all the timuran songs and lighting that beat any clubs! 😂✨

So glad that I spent the weekend at Pesta Timuran with my party people! Who just can’t stop dancing even when the party is over! (you guys rock and I wuf you somat) 🤣🤣🤣

But on serious note, everything falls into place in the right timing, God knows I need this moment after a week of non-stop crying and lack of sleep.

Always thankful, always grateful! Until the next party! 🎉

Tiba-tiba kemarin ngonser 🤣

- Jerry Yan pernah capek ngga sih jadi orang ganteng?
- Itu pake baju see through, abang pake nipple cover ngga ya?
- Tuhan memang adil, bang bisa yuk bang jangan fals di lagu sendiri
- Bang, udah coba kubantuin nyanyi loh, tapi kutak sanggup sama progression lagumu yang random
- Ashin pasti orangnya ngga manis deh, kan Ashin
- Iklan rokok nih
- Bae2 buka helm tau2 Pak Jokowi (ytta)
- Gila ya ini efek lagunya kayak pembukaan event asuransi (lalu mendadak ngiklan perusahaan sendiri)
- Anjir ini bisa banget bridging ke lagu Vierra

Kesimpulan concertnya, gw happy mulainya ON TIME, kalau fitness jangan cuma weight lifting aja tapi plis pake cardio, dancer, lighting dan stage arrangementnya BEST, Vanness Wu gokil sih (suara paling stabil, joged paling keren, main musiknya kece dan aslik random, bawa2 Tuhan tapi tau2 buka baju, woy Bang! 😂) dan plis Tuhan mau dong sugar daddy seganteng (dan sekaya) om-om usia hampir 50an ini, amin! 😭🙏🏼

Oh satu lagi, bertahan 20 tahun itu ngga mudah 👏👏👏

When people ask me, “Which one is your favorite dance?” honestly, I always struggle to answer.

Because my favorite dance is every dance that ends with genuine smiles, laughter, and warm thank-you hugs. The kind of dance that feels joyful, playful, fun, and safely vulnerable — especially in close embrace. The kind where both people truly listen to the music and each other, and be present in the moment not distracted, not performing, not rushing to the next move, but fully sharing the moment as it unfolds.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a beginner or someone with years of experience. It doesn’t matter if there are awkward moments or “two left feet” moments, as long as both people keep showing up, expressing themselves, and sharing the dance together.

At the same time, I’m not saying that foundation, technique, and practice are not important — they absolutely are. They matter, and they need to be continuously learned and trained. Technique gives structure, safety, clarity, and the ability to communicate better through movement.

But beyond technique, the way you connect with the music, your partner, and yourself matters too. And I think that part cannot simply be taught. It’s something you experience internally, then allow to translate through your movement as a language born from your heart — your own honest expression. Something that I’m still learning as well, because fun fact: your dance actually reveals who you truly are.

I still remember one dance with a very fun partner where we spent the whole song laughing. We tried different things; sometimes they worked, sometimes… honestly, they really didn’t 😂 But by the end of the dance, both of us stood there with sweaty, reddish happy faces saying, “That was such a fun dance!” before laughing and hugging each other. That kind of dance stayed with me ♥️

One thing I’ve always believed in life is:
“Whatever comes from the heart can also be felt by the heart.”

So when you bring a joyful heart or your vulnerability into the dance, I believe your partner can feel it too and that’s what gives color to the dance ☺️

A reflection on a journey to healing 🤍

I just got out of an 8-year situationship that slowly made me shrink myself just to keep the connection alive. Walking on eggshells, trying to earn love that came in hot and cold, dealing with constant anxiety.

People may ask why I stayed that long. The answer is: it wasn’t always like that. Time changes people and connections. And eventually I realized I stayed because it felt familiar — a pattern rooted in unresolved childhood attachment. Something that felt like “home” even when it was hurting me and made me shrink.

For so long, I was told I was too much. Too emotional. Too sensitive. Too intense. So I learned how to make myself smaller just to feel accepted… until one day I barely recognized myself anymore.

I remember my dance teacher once told me to look at myself in the mirror while dancing. I couldn’t do it. I cried when I got home because I realized I hated what I saw in the mirror. That was the beginning of finally sitting with my insecurities instead of running from them.

I never expected dancing to become part of my healing journey and it still amazes me how God uses dancing to heal me. But somehow, through the dance and the community, especially blues dancing, I slowly found my way back to myself

The warmth. The kindness. The encouragement. A space where I don’t need emotional decoding or shrinking myself so I won’t feel “too much.”

A space where I can simply… be.

I can laugh loudly. Cry because a song moved me. Express warmth freely and receive it back without fear or confusion. Through blues, I learned that self-expression is not something to be ashamed of but it’s something to be celebrated.

Maybe that’s why my recent trip to @crossroads_blues_asia felt so emotional. It reminded me there are still places in this world where softness is welcomed. Where people meet each other with warmth instead of walls.

And with my beloved Indo gang, this trip became more than just a dance trip. It felt like a retreat for the soul and we can all agree that we feel the same ☺️🤍

After years of shrinking myself, blues dancing make me feel like I am finally coming home to myself and it feels so liberating ♥️ by @synamunt

“Thank you for your time” — should be something we learn to say more often when others give us their time, because time is something that they cannot get back.

And since time is precious, let’s honor it by being respectful of other people’s schedule and also thoughtful of their efforts — especially when they have intentionally allocated their time for us.

In my opinion, the way we treat other people’s time is also a reflection of how much we respect them or how important they are in our lives. by @synamunt
