I’ve known Derrick for just over a decade now. From the moment I met him, I knew he had a really unique way of approaching movement, treatment and human performance. I’ve spent the last decade taking any opportunity I could to be in his orbit and to learn from him. He’s the reason I became an acupuncturist and set on this path of being the best practitioner I can be to not only help people recover from injuries but also optimize their movement and performance.

Today I got to see him complete the 3rd of a 3 part series teaching all of the concepts he’s been working on for the last decade and beyond. What an amazing thing to witness and be a part of!! Derrick is doing something really special, and what an honor to be part of!

Adding acupuncture can be an excellent addition to your healthcare team!

We were able to help increase blood flow to a wrist post surgery and build our patient’s confidence as they reintroduced activity.

If stretching was going to fix it, it would have worked by now.

Think about that tight hamstring, stiff neck, or nagging shoulder you have been stretching for months or years. Why hasn't it budged?

In Episode 10 of Rewiring the Game, guest Lin Duffyhill, founder of Synergistic Movement, breaks down the truth about pain and mobility.

Only 10% of movement limitations are actual "hardware" damage like torn tissue or structural issues. The other 90% are "software" dysfunctions.
Your nervous system communicates via electrical circuits. When your brain senses instability or overcompensation, it locks down your range of motion to keep you safe. You do not always need more stretching or ibuprofen. You need a system reset.

Swipe through to see Lin's journey from patient to high performance practitioner.

Born in China and adopted at age four, Lin grew up in Denver, where sports built her foundation of resilience and teamwork. Inspired by her high school Athletic Trainer, she studied Exercise and Sport Science at Oregon State, where a casual rowing elective turned into a full Division 1 athletic commitment. After years on both sides of sports recovery, she combined Western anatomical science with Eastern acupuncture patterns to treat the whole person, not just isolated symptoms.

In this episode, we also dive deep into why your body compensates in silence until it suddenly breaks down, how to break out of lone wolf mode by embracing the vulnerability of asking for help, and Lin's top daily prescription for every human body: move for five minutes every single hour.

Save this post for your next workout recovery day and share it with a friend who is always stretching.

Episode 10 of Rewiring the Game is live right now. Listen on Spotify and Apple Podcasts at the link in bio.

Is your body trying to tell you something that a standard doctor’s visit completely missed?

When you go in and say, "My knee hurts," the answer is so often, "Well, your knee looks fine, so there’s nothing we can do."

That is where sports acupuncturist Lin Duffyhill steps in to change the conversation.

In this episode of Rewiring the Game, Jade Baranski sits down with Lin to break down what it actually means to blend Western structure with Eastern holistic care. It is not just about whether you are doing physical damage to your body structurally. It is also about asking what is happening from a spiritual, mental, emotional, and energetic perspective.

Lin explains the massive difference between a hardware issue (an actual torn tissue) and a software issue (how your brain communicates with your muscles). A staggering 90% of the time, your body is not physically broken. It is simply compensating to protect you from stress, overload, and burnout.

When both aspects are assessed, you do not just get quick band-aids. You get a space where your full story is heard, your body is treated as a complete system, and your performance can actually reset.

Stop waiting for something to be completely on fire before you pay attention to your body.

Is that tight muscle a physical injury or is your nervous system just trying to protect you? 🧠⚡️

In this episode of Rewiring the Game, host Jade Baranski sits down with sports acupuncturist Lin Duffyhill to break down what it really takes to optimize human performance and fix chronic pain.

Most of us were taught the standard routine: ice it, stretch it, take an ibuprofen, and keep grinding. But Lin reveals that up to 90% of the movement limitations people face aren’t hardware issues like torn tissues.
They’re software dysfunctions.

When your body feels overloaded or unsafe, your nervous system locks down your range of motion to compensate. That back pain from picking up a pencil? It wasn't the pencil. It was months of accumulated load finally overflowing.

In this episode, Jade and Lin dive into: • Why stretching non-stop isn't fixing your hamstrings
 • Hardware vs. software dysfunctions (and how to reset the circuit)
 • Bridging Western sports medicine with Eastern energy work
• Why high performers fall into the "lone wolf" trap and refuse to ask for help
• How moving for just 5 minutes every hour can completely transform your daily health

If you are ready to stop managing surface symptoms, address the root cause of your physical bottlenecks, and learn how to ask for help before you burn out, this conversation is for you.

Ever stretched for years only to feel just as tight as when you started?

Most of us were taught the exact same playbook for pain: ice it, take ibuprofen, and stretch. But if daily stretching was going to fix it, it would have worked by now.

On this episode of Rewiring the Game, host Jade Baranski sits down with sports acupuncturist Lin Duffyhill to pull back the curtain on why your body isn't responding.

The secret? The difference between hardware and software.

Hardware is physical tissue length or structural damage. That is where foam rollers and massage guns come in.

Software is how your brain communicates with your muscles over electrical circuit pathways using neurons.

About 90% of the time, that persistent tightness isn't short tissue—it is a software glitch. When your nervous system senses overload or doesn't feel safe, it locks down your range of motion to protect you.

When your laptop glitches, you don't force it open further. You reboot it. That is exactly what resetting these electrical pathways does for your body, bringing back full movement instantly on the spot.

Stop treating software bugs with hardware fixes. It’s time to reboot your system.

"There’s a huge level of respect that is gained when you admit that you don’t know." — Lin Duffyhill

Whether you are an athlete pushing through pain or an entrepreneur running a business solo, the ego loves to tell us we have to figure it all out alone.

In Episode 10 of Rewiring the Game, host Jade Baranski sits down with sports acupuncturist Lin Duffyhill to discuss what happens when you swap lone wolf energy for vulnerability.

Key takeaways from this episode:

Hardware vs. Software Pain: Why stretching for years might not be working. Most pain is not a physical hardware issue, but a software glitch in how your brain communicates with your muscles.

The Power of "I Don't Know": Admitting you need help or asking a simple question builds immediate trust and respect with your clients, team, and self.

Ditching Mental Checklists: How holding everything in your head leads to burnout and how resetting your approach creates real momentum.

Stop trying to fix software problems with outdated hardware habits. Get out of your own way, ask for support, and get your body moving!
