HANA IBRAHIM , Featured on the front of our exhibition’s postcard. Take a look back in case you missed her work in our past exhibition, Adrar Inu.

Hana Ibrahim is an Egyptian-born, NYC-based fashion designer and multidisciplinary creative. She uses photography as part of her design process, capturing images that build visual landscapes for her collections and creative practice.

This selection of photographs were taken throughout Hana’s hometown of El Hussein, Cairo, in the places she returns to most often. The Images look closely at the everyday details of Egyptian life that easily go unnoticed: familiar spaces, textures, objects, architecture, people, and ordinary moments.
Through a perspective shaped by distance and personal connection, Hana finds inspiration in these familiar surroundings and the details within them that might otherwise be overlooked. The photographs became a form of visual storytelling and textile research, informing her thesis collection, I Am from Hussein and Hussein Is from Me, while documenting the place that shaped her early life. by @syxibra
