What a season. I have learned so much about myself and what I’m capable of. At this point, I have exceeded every goal I once had in this sport.

Sadly, I ended my season on a low note at Nationals, but at least I was able to make a road trip out of it. As disappointing as it is, I know there is still more to accomplish. I have never felt more driven to reach my full potential.

I’m grateful to Kutztown for the opportunities it has given me and for the people I’ve met along the way. I’m incredibly excited to take the next steps and continue growing in my journey.

What a year.
After leaving votech and returning to regular school full time, my senior year has been nothing short of packed. While I didn’t finish the season the way I hoped, I’m beyond grateful for the experiences I’ve had and everyone I’ve met along the way.

When I had my appendix removed unexpectedly in April, I thought my season was over. Thankfully I was lucky enough to stick it out and compete in the final meets. Pole vault has taught me far more than just how to jump over a bar. It’s taught me the value of failing. It’s shown me that chasing your goals can be a long, messy, and uncertain journey. But with determination, belief, and perseverance, progress does come and goals do become a reality.

Earlier in the spring, during a rough outdoor season and a no-height at New Balance indoors, I was on the verge of giving up—I couldn’t be happier that I didn’t.

So no, I didn’t hit 17 feet…yet. This past year after shooting up 2 feet in height has shown me I have what it takes. This is just the beginning of a long road. Time to get back to work. taken in The Moon by @szeplakan

Everyday for the past 4 years I have thought about doing one thing, and I am happy to say that one thing happened today. 15’6” was the goal since 9th grade and I surpassed that today with 16’ to win the state meet. I also had some pretty good attempts at 5.00m. I can’t thank @vaultworx enough for helping me these past couple months. We are just getting started… taken in Penn State by @szeplakan

Pole vault 14”3, high jump 6”5. Both are state qualifying heights. I did not expect high jump to go so well, as I surprisingly tied the school record. With those qualifying heights I failed to do well enough at districts and did not go to states for either events. I broke two poles though, so that’s pretty cool. Overall, solid 3rd year. by @szeplakan
