I spent the last five months on an arbor crew and yesterday was my last day. I loved parts of it, and completely absolutely fucking hated others. Ultimately in reflection I decided that, like my experience in hospitality, I wasn’t heading towards anything that actually mattered to me. While I have been lucky to excel in many things I have applied myself to, Tattooing is the only thing I have ever truly known that I want to spend my life doing. I’ve been trying to balance both and practice tattooing on the weekends but I couldn’t. Tree work is extremely hard and demanding work, and I woke up a few weeks ago and realized I was sacrificing more than I had to give. And that I was walking, once again, down a road that lead nowhere near what I picture for my future. I will miss my crew so much, I made some really great friends and some even better memories this year. I am riddled with anxiety because I have no idea what’s next, but I’m filled with even more light, love, and possibility as I walk away and toward the within.

I have been spending a lot of time trying to navigate my way towards the within lately • spending a lot of time trying to become more like myself. I am still trying to tattoo/ still struggling just as much as the last time we spoke about it. When I began this ever-long journey I was very interested in ornamental embellishment but was discouraged to explore it.
