Swipe the pics . New pinion for a Longines 262 Rattrapante escapement wheel . These jobs are always a bit tricky but i like it 😊. #longines #rattrapante #watch #clock #steel #gold #silver #collect #rare #museum #super #color #workshop #watchmaker #clockmaker #trade #deal #germany #usa #europe #service #berlin #munich #cologne #hamburg #like #hannover #harz #harzmountains by @t.b.watchmaker

Swipe the pics . A worn and broken pivot on a very delicate Ulysse Nardine ship chronometer is the result of waiting way to long for the next service . Jobs like this doubles the price very quick . This chronometer was used in south east Asia. The „watchmaker“ who serviced it just reduced the original length of the balance arbor + set the complete chaton lower 🤦‍♂️. Well done 💪🙄🙄. I drilled a 0,7 (quite big) whole into the balance arbor and used a carbide drill by the swiss factory „Sphinx“ . I can highly recommend these drills but they are f… ing expensive . Well, these arbors are hardened as hell and you all will agree . You can‘t do a good job with bad tools 🤷‍♂️. #hard #watch #chronometer #ulyssenardin #swiss #workshop #tool #color #time #cool #germany #clockmaker #watchmaker #collect #museum #rate #quick #want #super #perfect #museum #hamburg #berlin #munich #cologne #harz #craftman #artisan by @t.b.watchmaker

A few weeks ago i had the pleasure to work on a very rare L.Le Roy tank at the @nawccmuseum (Columbia PA / USA) Just 60-65 of them are produced as an answer for Rieflers in Germany or Shortt in Great Britain . The escapement is an upside down spring force design by Reid . @kurtstrehlow and me had a great time at the museum working as volunteers. I just stayed for 10 days but it feels like 3 weeks . We met old friends and made new ones and i‘m pretty sure we will be back one day 🫵😊 #clocks #time #museum #friends #meeting #cool #color #collect #workshop #gold #steel #brass #usa #germany #colaboration #berlin #hamburg #cologne #munich #columbia #philadephia #pensilvania by @t.b.watchmaker

On our US trip @kurtstrehlow and me visited the @plumierfoundation two days ago in Saltsburg PA . What a mindblowing place all of you should go better today than tomorrow 🫵. The workshop is full of ornamental turning machines some old and some new but in classic design . Fantastic 🤯. We meet @david.lindow and his son Christian who are running the place .@cumbriaclockco boss Keith from GB came in randomly . We actually met virtual so far and had to travell half way the globe to meet in person 🤣🤣🤣. #clocks #watches #ornamtalturning #roseengine #steel #museum #friends #color #usa #greatbritain #germany #travel #workshop #collection #meeting #hamburg #munich #berlin # by @t.b.watchmaker

For me one of the best dials ever 😍 #atmosphère #atmos #jaegerlecoultre #reutter #swiss #collectibles #chrom #clock by @t.b.watchmaker

Successfully deliverd in Switzerland 👍. Towerclock made by Neher Munich made in the 1920‘s . Quarterstriker movement, 1 minuit remontoir aaaand super rare Riefler type J pendulum for towerclocks . Just a few of them are produced . The precision regulator is made by Knoblich Altona (Hamburg) unfortunately the suspension spring was broken but it‘s back runing on the wall at it‘s new home . #munich #riefler #precision #regulator #steel #clock #watch #gold #silver #workshop #rare #design #museum #collection by @t.b.watchmaker

Special things find their way into the collection. The first new addition to my collection in #2024. Thx a lot @t.b.watchmaker 🤝
A rare #omega watch. In 1965/66 it was one the last electro mechanical tuning fork fight version against quartz oscillating systems. It was a very small series of a very unusual tuning fork design and the frequency was regulated up to 720 H. They tested it in the observatory of Neuchatel in these typical casings. The idea of the big tuning fork was a successfull attempt to make it mor precise in different positions which was a problem before . The used an extra smaller second for an optical signal. There are only a few known and out of those, this one is running 🙏🏻

I want to introduce you a quite rare bird . Just a hand full are known coming with this very special „echappement a Mannevelle „ and this one is made by the inventor of the escapement as well . Signed „ Deshays Paris 1827“ . The clock won a silver medal at the industrial exhebition 1827 in Paris . There is another, unsigned , very similar one at the Lord Harris collection , Belmont GB (see Derek Roberts Precision Pendulum Clocks FR , GER , American page 90) . The dial shows us day, date and equation of time . Duration 1 month powered by double barrel barrel system driving the time train . Weights are hidden in the back of the case . Total weight 4,8 Kg but 3 pulleys 👌. #paris #precision #clock #rare #museum #color #brass #steel #wood #historical #germany #clockmaker #riefler #compensation #dial #watch #nerd #hamburg #berlin #munich #want #gold #silver #watchmaker #interesting by @t.b.watchmaker

Look at this delicate escapement of the L.Leroy tank clock . It is the upside down spring pallet technic by Thomas Reid one of the first two versions of free pendulum systems . The other is invented by Hardy. I expected to set it up is not so easy but it was very easy and it works very good since more than a month . Swipe the pics . These clocks where mainly installed 5 meters deep in the earth at french observatories to keep the temperature constant 👌. Well they are not beautiful for most of the people . Looks like bomb on the wall , ticking loud and comes just with a second hand it’s almost useless (without a slave) to have it. It is more a scientific instrument but for me these clocks are the peak of mechanical timekeeping handmade without computers .What do you think about it ? #precision # pendulum # rare # gold #steel #france #germany #harz #clock #collection #museum #french #berlin #hamburg #munich #color #paunt #want #watch #clock #leroy #paris by @t.b.watchmaker

Once in a lifetime 🤩🤩🤩.Super , super rare Louis Leroy & Cie /Paris high precision tank regulator . The company produced just 64 of these clocks mainly installed in observatory‘s of the french government . It was the french answer to Riefler (Germany ) or Short (GB) at the beginning of the 20th century .The clocks where installed 5 meters deep under the earth to protect against shocks and keep the temperature stable . The escapement is a free spring force Thomas Reid system in such a delicate way i never saw before . As always … more pictures of the pre posted Riefler and this magnificent technical and historical piece of art will follow when i‘m not tooooo busy 🤣 ( fingers crossed ) #precision #precisionregulator #regulator #riefler #leroy #louis #louisleroy #france #paris #clock #tank #time #observatory #clock #clockmaker #work #color #paint #gold #germany #hamburg #berlin #munich #harz #harzmountains #collectabilitywatches #collector #museum #history in by @t.b.watchmaker
