Upon the storm-stained ocean wide,
A ghostly ship begins to glide, Her sails in tatters, black as night, Yet still she moves with stubbom might.
The sky is bruised with shades of fear, A canvas dark, yet strangely clear, Where moonlight dares to pierce the gloom And stir the silence of her tomb.
She once was pride of merchant seas, With cargo rich and winds that please
But greed had cursed her captain’s soul, He chased a prize no man could hold.
A storm arose, the sea grew wild, The crew cried out, each mother’s child. Yet on he sailed through wrath and woe, Into the deep where no stars show.
Now painters catch her fleeting trace, With strokes of blue and windswept grace, Forever lost, yet never still,
A phantom ship that haunts the will.
And here she stands, in oil and shade, By hands of mortal artist made, To tell a tale the sea once kept, Of all who sailed, and none who slept.

“Beyond the Charted Blue” is a painting about a ship and its captain who are driven by ambition and greed to sail into a deadly, uncharted storm in search of legendary riches. Ignoring warnings and wisdom, they disappeard, lost to the sea and time.
But the ship becomes more than just wreckage; it transforms into a ghostly legend, seen by few, haunting the ocean as a reminder of pride gone too far.

A piece with a tale, past, present, and future ‼️

The stallion, often associated with raw energy and nobility, represent the untapped potential within every individual or the eternal battle between control and freedom. This painting symbolizes a powerful fusion of freedom, strength, and untamed spirit. The wild, unbridled nature of the horse evokes themes of liberation, suggesting the need to break free from societal constraints or personal limitations.
In its stillness, the painting evoke a moment of contemplation, urging us to reflect on our own relationship with freedom and control. The stallion, in its beauty, embodies not just physical power, but also an inner force, an unspoken resilience against adversity. It serves as a metaphor for the human spirit, which, despite the pressures and constraints placed upon it, retains the ability to break free, to gallop forward toward boundless horizons. The stallion’s connection to nature also symbolize a deep, intrinsic relationship with the world, where the essence of life is lived in its most pure and unchained form. The painting in its simplicity and grandeur, invites us to reconnect with that primal energy, to honor the wildness within, and to seek the courage to be unapologetically free and to embrace one’s own wild heart and pursue life’s purpose with relentless vigor

Scenes from the Final day of @plus234art fair with @ecobank_nigeria & @sotogallery and I’m still soaking it all in.

It’s been really special sharing “Beyond the Charted Blue” and “The Quiet Shore” from my Voyage and Stillness series over the past few days.

One of my favorite things was simply standing nearby and watching people experience the work. Some would walk past and then come back for a second look, some leaned in really close, and others started quiet conversations with the person they came with.

Those small moments are always the most special part for me — seeing how people connect with the pieces in their own way.

It’s always beautiful to watch how differently people interpret the same image.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and spent time with the work.
Until the next one. ✌🏽

Minimalist abstract gallery vibes for my client’s staircase and truly love how everything came together. Soft tones, modern art, and just the right amount of drama.
