As a kid with a ball in my hands and big dreams in my heart, I never could’ve imagined this moment. All I knew was that I loved the game—and I wanted to be great at it. As athletes, we dream of leaving a mark, of creating a legacy that lasts longer than the final buzzer. Being inducted into the TU Hall of Fame, it feels like that dream came full circle.

This honor isn’t just mine—it’s shared with every coach who believed in me, every teammate who pushed me, every fan who cheered, and every person who stood by me when the path wasn’t easy. Your love, your belief, your support... it carried me.

To be remembered by the place that shaped me, challenged me, and helped me grow into the person I am today—it means everything.

We made history. We built something that lasts. And we did it together. I love my city.

Stepping away from basketball meant figuring out who she was without it.

Taleya shares the anxiety, isolation and uncertainty that came with rediscovering herself outside of her sport.

Her family, friends and faith reminded her that she had an identity and purpose beyond basketball.

Looking fwd to this panel at my alma mater Booker T Washington High School in Tulsa Oklahoma tomorrow. It’s our 30 year reunion (still can’t believe I’ve been out of high school for 30 years) but this is a free event that is open to the public. We spoke to a lot of coaches who are going to bring their students there which is great.

We did a panel last year for Booker T’s homecoming and it went really well so definitely had to do another one. I remember when guys like Wayman Tisdale, John Starks, Lee Mayberry, Clint McDdaniel, Richard Dumas etc etc would come back and speak to us when we were at Carver or Booker T and we listened to everything they said. They were honest with us. Told us about their mistakes, what they would change if they could go back, answered all of our questions, and encouraged us. They told us how they grew up right where we were growing up and told us that we could do anything we put our minds to. And we believed them.

That’s why I like to come back and speak to the students now. To pour into them the same way athletes came back and poured into us. It’s a blessing to be able to be a blessing so I’m definitely looking forward to it.

Again this is a free event that is open to the public but we are going to have all the students sit down in the chairs on the court.

First Day of First Grade! 📚 And somehow… this was the first year I didn’t cry! I’m so proud of myself lol

Mostly because this little girl walked in with ALL the confidence and hit me with, “You can go now, Mommy.” 😂 Slide 5 is her being embarrassed that I was still trying to get a hug/picture.
