Forreal tho, when clients or other pilots ask me how I “got so good” what they’re really asking is “how do you keep 360 awareness at all times?” “How do you recognize a mistake before it happens?” “How do you communicate with production while also flying a difficult line?”

The answer I give is always “Lots of time in the simulator”. Part of the reason is because you DONT want to say “because I crashed my drone a lot”😂 That’s acceptable among pilots and friends, but real ones know that you can only break so many drones before you go broke, and your client doesn’t want to hear how many times you’ve crashed your quad while you’re on set flying around talent or expensive property.
•
Simulators didn’t used to be as good, but these days you can purchase a top-teir simulator, ask ChatGPT to give you the best gravity settings, and before you know it you have an FPV experience that is as close to 1:1 as we’ve ever seen.
