Title: “Yesterday’s Practice” (aka Most Valuable Practicer)

…circa 1991, The Golden Era of entertainment (via Hip-Hop, Rock, Sitcom Television & Historical Movies); The Location: Eastern District of Wilmington, North Carolina (Maides Park)…

…returning home from Little League football practice (with The Wilmington Colts to be exact) just to express to my older Brother (28 seasons apart) about how I was not tackled (not even after contact ) during the duration of scrimmaging. He (My Big Brother) was shocked (like a pair of human hands touching an electrical circuit while standing in a mild puddle of water). Proof was requested, courtesy of Big Bro; Therefore a trip was made (featuring Big Bro) to witness his younger sibling’s effort during practice. Displayed was actions from the previous day.

… afterwards, Big Bro asked about the reasoning in front of not allowing defenders to shove me down to the ground (like a gardening tool). Explained (in Run’sponse) was that 1 was allergic to the grass; & as for the reason number 2…
Scoring every play is a goal (from the literal & figurative perspective)… Which means positive habits will be executed at practice every single play.

Big Bro: “…but you are not allergic to grass.”

Me: “…I concur but if you keep telling oneself the same thing over & under RUN’gain… 1 starts to believe it. I tell myself that because I do not want to be tackled to the ground.“

Big Bro: “…interesting; & when did this mentality start.”

Me: “…prior to yesterday’s practice.

Story of the Moral… to the young Athletes who want to perform at the next level of sports… EVERY rep matters. Coaches, Scouts, Spectators, etc. admire athletes who do “The Small” things as if they were getting their name in the papers for doing such (properly stretching, effectively training, exceeding expectations, preparing, achieving academically, etc.).

… certain accolades can only be accomplished by 1 (only if that “One” individually dedicated oneself to the program, which ultimately results in winning collectively). Practicing positive habits eventually transition to M.V.P.s (on & off of the turf).

…are “YOU” a M.V.P.

Title: “Reach’n”

… across State run ins seemed to bring a prestige level of ecstatic energy; with the assumption that there were many of well known peers & friends (& previous High School Classmates) who highly anticipated the conflict between to N.C. Collectives. In retrospect, I wish that eye had the Run’bility to reach for their hands as they uttered (in cheer throughout the bleachers) while the rock was being passionately toted towards GOALS beyond the average person(s) Run‘magination. Collegiate hours in the ACC (as well as non-conference battles) were nothing short of a special time.

Every moment mattered beyond the yards of the earth & the stars above the planet.

These current days has chauffeured me back to earth in a true Uberly fashion.

I am content with the arrival, quite frankly.

However,

If one could stretch back the time of hands (for an opportunity 2wice over)… I would, but that would be Reach’n.

3 years ago, Zavier Scott traveled to our city to train with @therunningbackclub & prep for The NFL. He has been active in The League ever since (& now playing for my favorite team, ironically). He explored Wilmington & learned a lot about The Port City! He also toured my former High School @laneybuctown for a quick history lesson ( home of @jumpman23 ). Even supported local & small businesses. In retrospect, We had long conversations about THESE days.

Port City, follow @zavierslight

Title: “Finish Line.”

… I revert BACK to those days, often. Nostalgia is an RUNderstatement. I am empty of ideas (about who John Mannino is or his whereabouts). However, I would like to Thank him for testing 1 like a #2 pencil. A dull pencil can still be used but when it is sharpened it is used more effectively.

Story of the moral is… Life can make its attempt to slow you down but I believe that it is a fair assessment to say… The test must be finished. by @t_will_train
