father’s day has always been tough for me

for those that don’t know, my dad died three days before my first birthday.
i only ever knew him through pictures and stories, as an idea, and as a void

he was something vast and formless that i carried wanting to make proud without ever being sure he could see me

as i got older and outlived him, the grief changed. it stopped being about his absence in my life and became more of a sadness for a young man who never got to step into the next chapters of his life, and experience what i’ve been able to

time stolen.

today this holiday transforms for me again.
as a father now. i feel even more weight— but also the beauty ..more than i have words for

i keep him close.

love you dad. love you sage & aurélie.
love to everyone holding something complicated today 🤍 by @taaaylor4really

Aurélie Louise Cleveland is here ..but you can call her Goldie
✨✨✨
05.07.26 is the day our lives changed forever.

Aurélie — French for “golden one” — comes from the Latin aureus, meaning gold, tracing back to Marcus Aurelius

𝔉𝔬𝔯 𝔞 𝔰𝔦𝔪𝔭𝔩𝔢 𝔪𝔦𝔫𝔡, 𝔩𝔢𝔱 𝔲𝔰 𝔭𝔯𝔞𝔶—
a fare to faire an affair at The Fair

To those who see by day && dark,
grant eyes toward this procession’s heart:
for the gilded green that passes through,
with polished hands their patron do,
who calleth culture, yet extraction ’tis—
..the uninvited know well the rule

Lead us not to worship glow,
nor praise the ones who come and go;
but grant us sight enough to tell
when heaven looks too much like hell.

For every paradise keeps a list,
&& every prayer has been priced for this.
Some kneel for god, some kneel for grace—
most only hope to keep their place.

IN FAIRNESS,
