There are so many emotions that come with writing this, but after 20 years, it’s finally time to say goodbye to the game that gave me everything.

Softball has been my first love since I was a little girl. It shaped me, challenged me, broke me, and built me into the woman I am today.

My journey wasn’t a straight path. I was blessed to wear the jerseys of Missouri, Arizona State, New Mexico State, and finally UMBC. Every school, every coach, every teammate, and every fan became a part of my story. I wouldn’t change a single chapter because each stop taught me something different about life, resilience, and myself.

But behind the highlights was a battle that many people never truly saw.

I fought through 4 surgeries, including two major hip surgeries, countless hours of physical therapy, and health conditions that tested me mentally, physically, and emotionally every single day. There were moments when I questioned if I’d ever step back on the field again. There were days when simply getting out of bed hurt more than anyone realized.

I transferred. I had seasons taken away, setbacks that felt unfair, and dreams delayed. There were tears, disappointments, and moments I wanted to quit but softball always gave me a reason to keep fighting.

To my parents thank you for introducing me to this beautiful game and believing in me even when I struggled to believe in myself.

Softball gave me lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories, opportunities to travel the country, and experiences that most people only dream about. It taught me discipline, perseverance, humility, leadership, and how to get back up every single time life knocked me down.

While this chapter is closing, the impact this game has had on my life will never fade. I’ll forever be grateful that I got to live out my dream as a Division I athlete and wear each jersey with pride.

This isn’t goodbye to softball it’s goodbye to playing the game I love.

No matter where life takes me next, a part of my heart will always belong on a softball field.
