Sieger creole NRW 2026: Emajamaa✨

@emajamaa steht für Musik, die Träume zum Tanzen bringt. In ungewöhnlicher Besetzung lotet das Trio neue klangliche Möglichkeiten aus und verbindet Einflüsse aus skandinavischem Jazz, Minimal Music, Klassik und Folk zu einer ganz eigenen musikalischen Sprache - und überzeugte so die creole-Jury.

“A Cloud in My Head” explores the noises and emotions that sometimes visit us. These misty moments can also bring inspiration — and at times, the sun and clarity break through ⛅️

I hope you enjoy it. It feels fitting for these last grey winter days, gently preparing us for the coming spring 🌱

I’m very thankful that Fernando came up with this piece, as I truly enjoy playing and improvising over it ☺️

„Flying ground“ was freshly composed for my Bachelor’s concert and played with the wonderful band @harb.music 🙏

Imagine the ground beneath you starting to fly away - you loose gravity and, with a mixture of trust and joy, simple begin dancing and playing with it 💃🏻

Recent live in the studio jam with the most fabulous @tabea.hoersch, both of us rinsing over her composition “Momentes Pegueños”. Tabea plays the head, takes a solo, then I take a solo and play the head. Perfect symmetry!! Anyway, here’s the full performance, warts and all!

This release is Part 2 in a series of E.P. releases where I try to place the cello in a jazzy habitat, or even many jazzish habitats! The E.P. contains a wide combination of styles, instrumentation choices and special guests, included a reworking of Hari Seldon (from Deconstructed Cello Part I) with a string quartet, a jazz trio, some red-hot rock fusion and many other musical adventures!
