Following Jesus was never promised to be the easy path.
In John 15, Jesus prepares His disciples for something they wouldn’t expect: rejection. He tells them that the same world that rejected Him may reject those who choose to follow Him. Not because they’ve done wrong, but because they belong to Him.

Then in John 16, He reveals why He’s telling them this:
“I have told you these things, so that you will not fall away.” (John 16:1)

Jesus doesn’t hide the cost of discipleship. He prepares us for it.

There will be moments when standing for truth costs you approval. When choosing holiness feels lonely. When obedience is misunderstood. But rejection from the world is not evidence that God has abandoned you, itcan be evidence that you’re walking closely with Christ.

The goal isn’t to be liked by everyone.
The goal is to remain faithful to the One who gave everything for us.
So if you’re facing opposition because you’re following Jesus, don’t lose heart. He saw it coming. He warned us. And He also promised that the Holy Spirit would be with us, strengthening us and helping us stand firm.
Stay faithful.
Stay rooted.
Stay with Jesus.
