✨ Gather Around | Christmas in July ✨

Welcome to the first Gather Around.

I’ve been quietly working on something special, and I’m so excited to finally share it with you.

Gather Around is a new Table & Seasons series celebrating beautiful tables, creativity, good food and the simple joy of slowing down together.

For our first gathering, I’m delighted to be collaborating with Queen Koala Studio for a Christmas in July lunch and decoupage workshop.

We’ll enjoy a festive lunch before learning the art of decoupage, creating a beautiful coaster or two to take home as a reminder of the afternoon.

No experience is needed; just a love of beautiful things and good company.

Today’s 10 minutes dash into an op shop while grabbing some shopping was so worth it.

Three decorative ceramic wall moulds by Ceramiche, Bassano, Italy, each with its original hanging ring still intact. I absolutely love the three in a group.

This vintage horse book is complete with all 24 original plates and a note from Kay Craddock @antiquarianbookseller my favorite book antiquarian in Melbourne. First it caught my eye and wanted to repurpose it into framed pictures. Then I checked its current value. Let’s just say I will be keeping it as is for the time being.

This is why I love randomly collecting pieces. I truly believe what is meant for you will find you.

Collected & Styled

These are the latest finds in and around Melbourne from antique to op shops and everything in between.

A silver champagne coaster repurposed as a candle holder is so special. No longer only reserved for champagne occasions, I love looking at this every day.

A porcelain Japanese mid century bonbon dish featuring a ship.

Paired perfectly with a French vintage print of Vannes.

A Costa Boda tea light holder to set the mood.

Long on my wish list, this gorgeous Federal convex mirror with a gilded frame and featuring an eagle with spread wings.

This one needed a breathing space and left it centered on the wall.

The green mid-century French majolica plate. Cosying up with its neighbours in the China cabinet.

Green majolica plates will always have my heart.

Two framed ceramic reproduction plates of Rembrandt on a deep red velvet backing and gold frames.

A small brass candle holder atop of leather bound vintage books adds a bit of drama to this vignette.

A miniature champagne bucket typically used for toothpicks has found a new life as a match holder.

Dyi’d a little match striker at the bottom and I absolutely wouldn’t use it any other way.

Unboxing the perfect bookends.

@manor_on_george_official package has just arrived and this reel does not do these majestic gilded bookend wings justice.

They are dramatic, theatrical, charming and dreamy. Love that they flew and landed in their forever home.
