Yesterday, we celebrated World Food Day, and on Table Mountain every meal comes with a view.

TEN67 Eatery serves quick, casual meals for a day on the mountain. VIEWS by De Grendel offers a la carte dining, a wine bar and tastings. KLOUD on the Twelve Apostles Terrace keeps light snacks and drinks coming, and TAP Bar at the Lower Cable Station pours Newlands Brewery craft beers and other beverages as well as a scrumptious menu, with views over the city bowl. Pull up a chair and make a meal of your visit.

Stay on the path. The fynbos beside it took a long time to grow.

Table Mountain is part of the Cape Floral Region, and many of the plants on the mountain grow nowhere else in the world. The dassies are wild too, however friendly they look, so please don't feed them.

Place your litter in the bins provided, even better if you separate it as per the different recycling bins. If you are hiking, please take it back down with you. It is our responsibility to keep the mountain litter free.

Local is Lekker is back for October.

From 1 to 31 October, South Africans can ride to the top of Table Mountain for R265 per adult and R135 per child, return. Tickets are sold online only and must be bought before the day of your visit. Bring your valid South African ID with you on the day.

It is a good month to see your own city from the top before the summer season begins.

Happy World Teachers' Day to every teacher who has taken a lesson beyond the classroom walls.

Every year, from March to October the top of Table Mountain becomes an outdoor classroom. Our Class in the Clouds programme takes primary and high school learners up the mountain for an outdoor lesson in biodiversity and conservation, surrounded by the plants of the Cape Floral Kingdom.

Thank you to the teachers who accompany these learners and to every teacher who helps a young person see the world a little differently.
