Meet Corporal Rodriguez—a brave officer who was shot four times in the line of duty, joining the ranks of the 378 officers shot in 2023. This is his story. Corporal Rodriguez served with distinction as part of his agency’s S.W.A.T. team and TAC unit in Florida, where he was known by the patrol unit/radio number “TAC89.” In 2023, his life changed forever when he and his partner were shot multiple times during an apprehension. Thanks to the swift actions of a trauma unit, which performed CPR, his life was saved. In recognition of his courage and sacrifice, Rodriguez and his partner were honored with the Purple Heart award in 2024. In the same year, he launched @tac89fitness, a brand dedicated to equipping first responders, veterans, and tactical athletes with elite performance apparel designed to enhance their physical performance and honor their noble service. His mission is to inspire others who have been injured or wounded in the line of duty by promoting the importance of faith, physical fitness, and a warrior’s mindset. Rodriguez lives by the motto: “Strength through Struggle, Keep Fighting.” Now, one year later in 2024, Rodriguez is thankful for his ongoing recovery and the progress he makes each day. He credits his survival to the power of prayer and expresses deep gratitude to those who have supported him along the way. He sees himself as a “living testimony of the power of prayer” and gives all glory to God. I am incredibly honored that he trusted me to share his journey, and I’m grateful that @instagram connected us. Keep fighting, my friend. Yesterday marked the first official presentation of the TAC89 “Keep Fighting!” Officer Survival & Resiliency Under Pressure to a law enforcement academy and correctional officer academy at @valenciacollege Valencia College in Orlando, Florida. 🇺🇸 Drawing from both my personal journey and years of experience in law enforcement, I had the opportunity to teach, mentor, and guide the next generation of frontline warriors. The energy in that room was unmatched — truly one of the strongest and most impactful responses I’ve ever received during a presentation. After yesterday’s discussion in regard to mental resilience and physical fitness, I genuinely believe there are future leaders and phenomenal transformations already in the making. As a formal Corporal for my police squad, teaching, mentoring, and helping others grow has become something I’m deeply passionate about, and I’m continuing to find purpose through it all. It was an honor to stand in front of you all yesterday. Keep Fighting, Andy “TAC89” ⚡️ taken in Orlando, Florida by @tac89humanperformance

This morning, I had the honor of returning home and presenting the TAC89: Tactical Human Performance “Keep Fighting” Presentation to the Orlando Police Department School Resource Officer Unit as they prepare to head back to school tomorrow. There’s no feeling quite like being back with my fellow brothers and sisters, sharing the importance of a resilient mindset, staying prepared, and training for any threat or adversity that may come their way. One of the most impactful moments of the morning was meeting an officer who guarded my hospital room while I was in the ICU following my critical incident in 2023. Three years later, having the opportunity to stand in front of him and the rest of the SRO Unit—not as a patient fighting for my life, but as an instructor sharing the Keep Fighting mindset—was a full-circle moment I’ll never forget. Wishing all of the School Resource Officers a safe and successful school year. Thank you for the responsibility you carry every day protecting our schools, students, and communities. Stay ready. Stay resilient. Keep Fighting. 🇺🇸 #TAC89 taken in Orlando, Florida by @tac89humanperformance
