Happy WIP Wednesday friends

This week I’m working on the test knit for the #glimmerviewsocks by @bethmacdonaldstone
The #rosieyokesweater by @leneholmesamsoe and I also picked up the #maplescarf by @mariewallinknits again

After leaving my father’s house, Taci invited me back to her house for a glass of wine and some snacks.

We were greeted by an amazing sunset!!!
And then we enjoyed some Willamette Valley Pinot Noir,
cheese, crackers, olives, and paté,
followed by the most delicious homemade Brazilian specialties…
Pão de queijo and Coxinha!!!
Yum! Yum! Yum! 😋

After that, she showed me her current knitting projects…
Glimmerview Socks by @bethmacdonaldstone (a test knit) Rosie Yoke Sweater by @leneholmesamsoe

She also showed me her gorgeous craft room,
and she gave me more gifts. ☺️

And then, sadly, it was time to say goodbye… 😢

But before I left, Taci showed me her beautiful new Shetland Shades book by @gudrunjohnston and when we both realized that Gudrun would be at NY Sheep & Wool, I offered to get it autographed for her next weekend.

It’s the least I can do after she showered me with hospitality and gifts and yarn shop visits and the start of a new friendship.

Next stop…
another of Taci’s favorite local yarn shops…
Ritual Dyes!

From the sunshine pouring in the windows,
the colorful yarns and fabrics adorning the walls and shelves,
and the delightful notions and gadgets calling my name,
to the stunning samples,
the friendly staff,
and the charming black, white, and stainless steel dye studio in the back…
I was in my own little knitter heaven.

I bought more yarn for Jonna,
I bought earrings for my daughter,
I bought a few little things for myself,
and I got to meet the lovely @rachael_sokol Rachel!

I wish I could have stayed longer and purchased more and watched the dying process in person,
but the shopping day was coming to a close,
my suitcase was already going to be overflowing,
and the dye studio was quiet.

So Taci and I happily completed our purchases and reluctantly said goodbye as we embarked on our next adventure.

Then…
Taci took me to one of her favorite local yarn shops
Starlight Knitting Society!

It was gloriously warm and cozy and every nook and cranny was filled with yarn I wanted, notions I needed, and people I wanted to meet.

Taci specifically showed me some local yarn by…
@madebyhaileybailey and @tumalo_fiber
and I may have purchased one of them for Jonna. 😉

I also met Tim and Emily somewhere between browsing and buying, and I really wish we could have sat down and knitted a few rows, but we were on a mission to visit another favorite yarn shop.

So we paid for our purchases and said our goodbyes and were too quickly on our way…

I spent a lovely afternoon and evening with Kim @itismeknittykimmy from @knittogether.withkimandjonna and we had such lovely time … the only thing missing was Jonna @knitmatician … so next time I’m counting to meet you IRL dear Jonna 💖🧶

We visited @starlightknittingsociety and saw Tim @inertwagons and Emily

Then we went to visit @ritualdyes to see all the beautiful yarns and as a bonus we got to see Racheal @rachael_sokol

A perfect day … and Life is good 🧶💖

Next, I was so #blessed to meet @tacistudio_ Taci IRL!

We’ve chatted online in the past. She’s sent Jonna and I little gifts, and earlier this year I sent her my leftover Clematis yarn.

But when I posted that I was on my way to Portland on Friday, and then she commented on the post, I quickly texted her and asked if we could hang out while I was there.
Lucky for me, she was available, so we spent Sunday afternoon and evening together. 😊

I drove to her house.
She gave me more gifts. ☺️
I met her adorable dog.
And then we were off to visit some of her favorite yarn shops!

Finally met Taci IRL today!

I texted her last minute.
She was free today.
So I drove to her house and she took me to Starlight… one of her favorite yarn shops!

Needless to say, we’re having so much fun and I may have purchased a little gift for Jonna. 😊 taken in Starlight Knitting Society by @tacistudio_

I’m so excited that I got my copy of #shetlandshadesbook by @gudrunjohnston

I can’t wait to grab some tea, seat on my favorite chair and just take in all the beautiful pictures, patterns and then make plans for what I want to make … which is probably everything. Don’t you wish you had an extra set of hands sometimes ? 😉
