The Netflix spinoff of the Areeka podcast starring Bibi Alabdulmohsen (@bibii63) and Talal Sam (@talal_sam) has been out for one week now. With this series, Bibi and Talal step away from the classic couch and hit the road, traveling across the Gulf and getting into the stories and experiences that shape the region.

We got the chance to speak with the director of Droob Areeka, Abdullah AlThamer (@tacomistic), and he shared a bit about the experience of filming this breakthrough series, which marks the first Arab documentary series on Netflix, and quickly reached #1 in Kuwait.

This project is really special because it puts Kuwait on a spotlight that leaves our circle, which doesn’t happen often. Even better, it was put together by a local creative team from Kuwait, and it’s exactly the kind of project we’re always hoping to see come out of Kuwait and love to support. Get on board now, because season 2 is already cooking…
