Just me and the river the would freeze in a month time, permit me to share some facts about the Northern Dvina river with you

-Ice Cover : Freezes over in late October or November and stays blocked by ice for roughly 160 to 190 days per year, opening up around May. ( when it does cars can literally drive on it , people also take a walk to an island near by)

-Formed by the confluence of the Sukhona and Yug rivers near Veliky Ustyug.

-The major waterway in northern Russia that flows through Vologda Oblast and Arkhangelsk Oblast into the White Sea

I’m standing at Arkhangelsk Oblast.

-Length : 744 kilometers (462 miles).

-Basin Area: 357,052 square kilometers (137,859 square miles).

-Mouth: Empties into the Dvina Bay of the White Sea, forming a large delta near Arkhangelsk.

-Main Tributaries: Includes the Vychegda, Vaga, and Pinega rivers.

-Navigation & Economy: Navigable for almost its entire length, it serves as a primary route for timber rafting and industrial transport in northwest Russia.

-Canal Connection: Linked to the Volga-Baltic Waterway via the Northern Dvina Canal and the Sukhona River.

-Historical Importance: From 1553 to 1713, it was a vital trade artery connecting Russia directly with Western and Northern Europe through Arkhangelsk.

- Arkhangelsk was the first seaport in Russia before it was moved to St. Petersburg by Peter the Great (Tsar Peter I).

My happy place 🥰

Music has always been something I truly enjoy. Singing in church, especially, is something that brings me so much joy.

Growing up, I was never the shy child. I would always go on stage and stand beside my dad whenever he was speaking. Eventually, I started participating in children’s church ministrations, and that grew into standing as an adult to minister.

The joy is unmatched! ❤️

I’ve done this for so long that sometimes, sitting in the congregation during church gatherings actually feels strange. 😂

For all of my adult years, I’ve been a church worker. In every country I’ve travelled to for studies, I’ve always found a church or fellowship where I could serve.

And honestly, nobody has to cajole me into doing it. I serve because I genuinely enjoy it. There’s a deep sense of fulfilment that comes with serving God and being able to contribute, no matter how big or small.
