On the South Carolina coast we saw a new sight today- it is called stranding. It is a way a pod of dolphins can feed. It is a learned behavior so seems to be regional. Several dolphins will communicate with each other to round- up a school of fish ( this case striped mullet) and patiently crowd them next to the shore. When the time is right they all simultaneously rush the small fish onto the sandy edge and torpedo their 400 pound bodies into water only inches deep to feed on the stranded fish.

Again, nature teaches us.

Feeling nostalgic yesterday so we ate up the mountain from the farm.
So grateful for historic preservation — but where did that lake go? ( there is a scene from the movie Fried Green Tomatoes that may be the answer lol ) by @tadpolefrist
