My heart is shattered into a million pieces today as I had to lay my precious fiancé to rest. I know God welcomed him into Heaven with open arms, a stack of buyers cards, and all the livestock he could ever dream of.

The closest thing to perfect on this side of Heaven was Carson Bradley Hicks. His patience amazed me, his kindness made me love him more than I could ever imagine, his hard work encouraged me, and his love for his family and me was unmatched. He was the very best thing to ever happen to me. I have to say I was interested first, and I was never letting him out of my hands. I know all of my closest friends remember the days of me trying to find a way to get into his life. March 7, 2016 I finally worked up the nerve and and messaged Carson happy birthday on Snapchat just to get a conversation started.. and that’s where our love story began. From then on it took me a whole year to lock him down as my boyfriend. This time included dragging my friends to every rodeo he as entered in, some being 6-8 hours away…(sorry Whitney) The second time he met me he told me he loved me, and I knew then that I would marry that man one day. March 7, 2017 he asked me to be his girlfriend and I had to remind him every year after that it’s not your birthday it’s our anniversary now so maybe you should’ve asked sooner 😘 He has loved me, understood me and accepted me just as I was, like no one ever could. My friends laugh because I could’ve chosen anyone else in that year of trying to be his girlfriend, but my heart was set on him and I wasn’t taking no for an answer he was my one true love.

We spent our years spending lots of time with his family, enjoying Holly’s cooking nearly every night and Sunday evening family dinners were our favorite thing to do. Countless rodeos account for alot of our memories. Playing with our Mini Aussie - Queen Tilly. He always called her his little Angel. And when Rosie came along they were the perfect pair. We laughed and cried, and got through so many things together. He was truly my rock, my safe place, and could handle me so well and I know that wasn’t an easy job.

Thankful for the time I had with the most kind, loving, and patient person I’ve ever met. Forever would have never been long enough. Thankful that Carson Hicks chose me to be his wife. Thankful I can hold onto the promise of seeing him again someday.
