ALL I CAN HEAR IS MACHINERY!!
So many are out in their gardens tidying it up. Lives will be lost as not everyone knows to check long grass before cutting it. DON'T cut right to the edge of the grass, hedge or border as hedgehogs may be resting there. Please spread the word x by @taffym1

Hot Hot Hot!

It's crazy hot here all of a sudden and all of wildlife will struggle so putting out shallow bowls of water will really save lives. So many mums with babies! I'm replenishing my bowls up 3-4 times a day now! Remember hygiene is super important. Such a small kind thing to do that has a huge positive impact! Pls share.

This cutie little pudding is suffering from ringworm. Her spines are fine but you can see she is missing fur from her sides. She is still on a treatment plan but hopefully soon she will be even more boootiful with a full skirt of fur. Www.happyhedgehog.org.uk by @taffym1

HOGGY CRAFT Where hedgehogs and crafting unites.

Part 1 RESIN

As you know I make craft items to raise funds for my rescue. It is my way of donating and 100% of funds go to the hedgehogs. I made this little video and song to showcase both. I hope you like it. PM if you'd like to purchase any items or order a bespoke item too. Pls share by @taffym1

CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS - PART 1

Whilst our followers couldn't attend the conference I thought I would share some highlights of the research for you.
How well do hedgehogs hear?
Humans hear up to 20khz, dogs up to 45khz but hogs hear from 4 - 85khz which is amazing!!! This is important research as we know noise can really impact hedgehogs health in captivity by inducing stress related diseases that were lying dormant. Every light switch click, door banging etc affects the hedgehogs, but with an even wider hearing range what impact does the equipment we use cause added unneccessary stress too? What about the use of sonic repellers in your garden? by @taffym1

Many years ago I lived in London for 16 years and never saw a hedgehog. I moved to Yateley, started a hedgehog rescue and started admitting hedgehogs from London! Holes for Hedgehogs, aka Hedgehog Highways, aka access holes in the bottom of fences are the most import thing anyone can do for our struggling spiky friends. Have you made yours?

Blwyddyn Newydd Dda to all our supporters and Hogified folk!

This has been a challenging year behind the scenes with Daddy's diagnosis. He is a real trooper and never complains. We have taken less hedgehogs and birds this year because of this, and will continue to do so into 2026 due to the distances between us etc. We have still helped so many hogs, and in the summer we had at least 50 hoglets on site at one time which kept us busy. I would like to thank everyone that donates to us, whether directly to our fundraisers, donating to our tombolas, dropping off newspapers and all of you that have put up with my craft posts. Crafting has kept me sane with so much going on, and I have loads of projects stacking up for the new year. HOGGY CRAFT is my way of donating to my rescue, and not just asking for support all the time. Your support is vital for the survival of the rescue, and I want you all to know that every donation is so important to us and helps us to help them. We can't thank everyone for every donation but please know that we are always grateful and use every penny carefully for the many hedgehogs in our care.
We wish all supporters a Happy and Healthy 2026 x by @taffym1
