WAACKLANTA LOVE VOL 2 ❌POST-CON DEPRESSION? ✅POST-JAM DEPRESSION This the first jam (in 3 years) that I actually tried my best in. It was my first battle in ATL and first time passing prelims out of state (twice). It started with a 2025 NYResolution where I should secretly, fully (re)learn and do a style that was WAY out of my comfort zone: Waacking. Learned as much as I can, partially online classes/research, in person classes, and watching performances (mainly Strike & Release). When word dropped about Waacklanta Love, I decided to make this the place where I can showcase what I learned over the 9-12months. During the whole weekend full of workshops and battles (and car rides!), I felt GENUINE love, energy, and especially CONNECTION from everyone I met, which was very weird at first because I RARELY felt that in my home area. I was felt to believe I had to be a certain level of “good” to hang out/interact with certain people…which made me very distant for the past few years. I thought I just say wassup to some people, get a few weird looks and interactions and then go home…so coming here was a huge breath of fresh air to me as my mentality went from caring about trying to win and pass prelims to interacting and connecting with the people that weekend. @venus.vinnycakes and @waacklanta yall have created something amazing and this was the best battle I’ve been to so far. Yall created an environment where it was okay to be weird and that everyone is good enough. I am inspired both as a dancer and event organizer and I learned so much just by experiencing last weekend. I certainly look forward to the next one! Lastly, thank you for making me love dance again. -Karp

Everybody contributes a piece to the Gallery, and the Gallery is always open 😉 Thank you to @waacklanta, to @venus.vinnycakes and the entire #waacklanta staff, all the beautiful people I met this past weekend. Learning complicated shit, breakin bread with folks, gushing about rounds we just witnessed, new and old friends all making memories. Truly was such a fun event full of risk, nerves, affirmations and an absolute abunDANCE of love to go around ❤️ Thank you @rid3rdie for picking me to be your Cupid partner 🤣 Thank you @stardust_moves @eevy_ @kid_nimbus @paolo.askia @demoncar0007 for your lessons. Trust me when I say I’m the type to go over everything for a long while. Shoutouts to @_mightypaul_ and Paolo for caring for our rounds so much with your music. Special shoutout to @jason.lockhorn for putting up with my BS all weekend 🤣 Shoutouts to ATX friends 😎 @aria_luo.7 @karena.pan @kitcat.dancer @thisisvibe @andi.not.mack @samc1482 @raven.yu.x @globrly @helen.chenn @lisa_siva and Dallas friends @juliabacud @alexander_barnes @_kammy_g @emmalee_a for making any room we were in together that much more comfortable and familiar. I was damn exhausted by the end of it all, but it’s a party—that’s what we do! Live it up while we’re here! I feel very blessed this old heart keeps getting filled 🥰 #whacking #clubculture #campbellocking #allstyles
