Intliziyo iyaphuphumala ngumbulelo, it's been a rollercoaster directing and choreographing this body of work, one that has watered me to growth and allowed me to understand the responsibility of being umdali, a creator ,someone who brought something to life.

Ndibulela ngazo zozibini to everyone who showed up and allowed me to use their bodies as a vessel to tell this story. To my community who displayed boundless support and love. I know I have lived because I made art with the people that I love . ❤️

To @ke.nalediii and Amy , my babies this process would have been nothing without you , thank you so much dada loves you.

THE MIND OF SOLOMON

The work is an embodied narration of the abusive marriage between Ivy Msomi and Jackson Mzamo
Msomi, both of whom are my paternal grandparents.

The first act of this work enacts an affect-effect story detailing the events of
this marriage that played a significant impact in shaping my childhood.

The work is by observation and subjectivity, I will be focusing on the evolution of my grandmother
within this marriage. The mind of Solomon is dual in function acting as both the setting of this work and the catalyst of events taking place. It is
an environment and a live organ.

Put simply we are inside
Solomon’s mind yet witnessing how this environment made a significant change in my grandmother’s life.
