POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
It’s been long overdue, but we still wanted to share and reflect on the past two events we had. For those who couldn’t be there, but also for those who want to be taken back to the moment as a trigger to relive it. At our last listening session in June with @1.06library , they took us through the story of their archive, highlighting gifted pieces of music from friends of the library and many more. And yes, that A Taste of Honey record is amazing, give it a listen if you haven’t yet! Although we primarily focus on listening events, we also had our annual club night at @theshorescheveningen again, with a Forró dance workshop by @forrodenhaag , live music by the Forró das Flores trio, and ending it with a special B2B by @palosantodiscos and @kcthefunkaholic . They took us everywhere, ending the night with the beautiful track by Jorge Ben “Oba, Lá Vem Ela” We are very blessed to host these events and to receive all the love you give us by showing up and caring for the music, the intimacy, and the care we try to cultivate in our city of The Hague. You make us possible. Much love. 📸 by @jorisvdeinden 📹 by Everyone

This one is special! I sat down with @drknghts.bpm for A Dose of AMPFEMININE. Phoenix & Kristieyana are over ten years deep in Amsterdam’s scene and true pioneers in it 🥇 We trace their journey from DRKNGHTS’ early days all the way to the 1.06 Music Library (@1.06library), their physical home for vinyl, cassettes, CDs and the stories inside them. We get into who first showed them music was worth holding onto, what it’s like when someone hands over something they’ve kept for years and whether they’ve ever felt pushed to make DRKNGHTS more digestible for certain bookers, venues, or crowds. Plus so much more wisdom from these two. Something tells me this isn’t the last time DRKNGHTS and AMPFEMININE link up... @1.06library is open to any sorts of donations! From instruments to music magazine. Hit them up! Big thanks to @operator.radio for the staff pick! Listen to the full episode on SoundCloud, YouTube and the Operator Radio website.

For our next listening session on the 7th of June, we’ve invited Christiana and Leslie, the duo behind @1.06library Their archive focuses on physical media and spans records and CDs of all kinds, across genres such as funk, soul, R&B, highlife, roots, reggae, and everything in between, with the aim of stimulating, educating, and enlightening curious minds and supporters of music. D&D in full effect! Different angles, deeper cuts, brought together by people who genuinely care about the music. Since it’s our anniversary we had to add familiar faces in the mix. 1.06 Library 📚 Back with us since way back: from the early radio days to club nights in 2018. Years later, 1.06 Library has grown into a full-on listening experience, rooted in physical formats and deep selection. Expect a fully vinyl-driven set, pulling across genres and eras, with records you don’t get to hear on the daily! Bevan Family affair. You might’ve seen his fingerprints in some of the early words around PARDON, now stepping into the booth himself! Bevan brings a sound shaped by years of digging: Vocal-led garage house, soul, boogie, all stitched together with warmth and knowledge of a veteran. A selector who plays what he feels, rather than following trends. Idilay From classical violin training to finding her lane on the dancefloor, Idilay’s sets carry a strong sense of storytelling. We were immediate fans when we saw her move through different types of house, breaks and acid with ease. Her love for electronic music started on the PARDON dancefloor, full circle much? Sandor Dayala Artist, label founder of PLAZA and long-time selector from Agga with some serious hours behind the decks. We know him for a wide-ranging taste and instinct for the right record at the right time.
Expect unexpected selections, a loving energy, and a set that feels intimate until the very last min of the night. Catch you IIIIIIInside on the 29th! We can’t wait 💖
