SWEET WORDS...is yours to own🎙🎧🤍

For more than 3 decades, Jan Johnston has been one of electronic music's defining storytellers.

Long before "featured vocalists" became commonplace, Jan was writing the songs that helped shape an entire generation of trance and progressive music. Her unmistakable voice, honest & gift for melody have become part of dance music history, inspiring millions through timeless collaborations with artists including BT, Paul Oakenfold, Chicane and many more.

Every lyric begins with Jan. Every story begins with the writer.

Alongside her is the Excellent Matt Black, a producer whose journey through progressive house has been built on craftsmanship rather than shortcuts. With more than 25 years behind the decks and in the studio, releases across labels including Perfecto Black and Bonzai Progressive, and support from some of the genre's most respected DJs, Matt has earned a reputation for creating music with depth, emotion and timeless dancefloor energy.

Together they deliver "Sweet Words"... a meeting of two artists who understand that the most powerful tracks don't chase moments... they create them.

Released on 10 Steps North, Sweet Words blends Matt's beautifully crafted progressive production with Jan's unmistakable songwriting and vocal signature, reminding us why authentic collaboration always stands the test of time. The release has already been receiving support from names including Above & Beyond, Andy Moor, Lexicon Avenue and Chris Fortier.

✨ Every download keeps the heartbeat alive.

Very happy to welcome @tholinmusic to 10 Steps North with the brilliant ‘Fire In Me’ 😍🔥

Chris sent me this demo before my Explorations set last year and i instantly loved the melody, emotion and energy in the track.

I played it during my set in Albania, which Chris happened to be in the crowd for, and we got chance to meet after the set. It was a reminder of why I love running the label - discovering amazing music, sharing it and getting to meet great people behind it 🙌🏻

A quick breakdown of the lead sound from my new track ‘infinite’

Built from 2 pad sounds and a simple chord progression, with plenty of fx and automation to bring it to life!

Anyone else use these plugins? I only found out about Tantra a few months ago and it’s so good!

‘Infinite’ is out now on 10 Steps North.
