We opened a restaurant this year!

I grew up in a restaurant, worked in kitchens for almost a decade and have helped open a hotel. But responsibility tastes different, and Aris would have been impossible without you: our team, our regulars, our suppliers, everyone who chooses to give us a second chance even if theres mistakes or delays in their order, the Berlin community of fellow chefs and restaurant owners who come and support (no greater honor to have chefs on their days off come eat), food writers, my amazing family who came to work on their holiday, and my friends—who come to visit and stay and bring friends and never resent my eternal absence from everything and continue to come visit me at work. But my north star is Tino, nothing to keep you walking the walk than your son growing up in your restaurant to remind you of the why.

Made a playlist for the kids. Just Posca-ing up bus station walls, asking mum to buy the vodka, got the creaming soda? Check. Afends hat too? Busy trying my first meter-ey ever, that’s a bong btw.. trying to keep up at school, glorifying the mosh pit at Jacks shed, first Canon ever burning a strap line into my shoulder… lucky my ripped stockings match the sad & tough girl aesthetic. Boys like that right? I’m not in love with my best girl friend 👀
A mess of a rougher time on the streets of the northern rivers. A bunch of kids just doin it as best they could. Knuckle dusters and goon, in contrast with hippie mums and natural beauty. -a snapshot.
