I'm SO excited to reveal the official poster for the Canadian premiere theatre production of The Noose!

It's such an amazing feeling seeing the vision I had in mind for The Noose's poster come to life. I knew I wanted it to capture the play's themes, and to see how it all came together in this phenomenally striking poster, I really do get chills. Heartfelt thanks to THE talented team for allowing me to share my creative direction with you and for taking it to a whole other level!

I get so emotional just seeing this post! Looking back on how far our theatre production ‘The Noose’ @awtheatre has come, it’s incredible. It all began with me reading the script back in 2021, during the pandemic. Dr. Eric Pierre, having seen my directorial debut ‘Les Frères’ @lesfreresplay in 2018, thought of me when his colleague Dr. Asselin Charles approached him with a translation of a Haitian classic he wrote in 1997, wanting it to have its Canadian premiere in Toronto.

I was hesitant at first; I was a recent @uoft graduate, and we were in the midst of a pandemic - theatre had stopped. But after I read the script, I was blown away. I became determined to make this play happen not knowing what the future held.

For two months, y’all, I searched for actors. Then I came across the audition tapes of these two raw talents! You wouldn’t believe it – I was listening to worship music, hopeful that God would send two Haitian actors in Toronto to do this play. I didn’t know how, because Lord knows, I haven’t met many in my time working in theatre and film in Toronto. But I just knew, I felt it that the Haitian actors who needed to be in this play would find it.

God answered with @edmond_clark_official and @louc.s.f! The moment I saw their separate audition tapes, I knew. Then, when I saw them work together at the callback – their first time meeting each other – I was certain! They were Canada’s Polydor and Pyram!

You’ll be blown away by the performance these two are going to give. They wear their hearts on their sleeves and will leave everything on the stage! I’m incredibly grateful for both of them. Theatre in Canada will never be the same with these two in it!
