After a two 14er weekend it’s hard to be leaving the state for a week but trusting the universe that where I am headed will bring peace to a wound and peace to my family

2019 I did Mount Bierstadt as my first 14er! 3 years later I came back and brought my bestie with me! So proud of her yet again by pushing through and bagging her 2nd 14er! Will be back once again to tackle Sawtooth Ridge to Mount Evans 😈

First 14er of the season bagged! #14 in total! My earliest start too! It was a feat none the less! But the views on Huron are spectacular and totally worth the 11 mile Lulu’s Gulch trek.

When I was having my bummer summer week last week I was in the depths of shoulda, woulda, coulda - wishing I could go back in time while simultaneously worrying about the future. But, we are only ever in one place in time - NOW - the present moment. And when we just stop, close our eyes and breathe we realize we can only control so much and therefore can breathe everything else out.
A few slow breaths can be the difference between getting all worked up about something or just being at peace with it. I’m choosing peace, at least today, because it’s so much more enjoyable.
✨
My book really helped me last week! I read the excerpt each day and implemented the prompt. Send one to someone you love today. Available on my website for 10% off or on Amazon.

When we reached the summit of #mountsherman yesterday a small group of us participated in the @mission_22 #2200squatschallenge.

I explained that nearly 22 veterans take their lives from suicide and the squat challenge is to bring awareness to veteran suicide and raise funds for Mission 22 so they can help more veterans.

Several people not in the @22peaksproject group did squats with us which was awesome including a man from Switzerland and a gentleman who lost THREE close veteran friends to suicide.

Altogether we did over 217 and that was one squat for each #colorado veteran that committed suicide in 2019 alone.

The #22peaksproject mission is to inspire hope, build community, and experience healing at 14,000’.

Standing on top of the continent is one of the most exhilarating, cathartic, rewarding, and soul-refreshing experiences I’ve ever experienced.

Experiencing this with other people is infinitely better.

If you’re interested in putting in the hard work and climbing one with me, feel free to reach out or check out our group on meetup and sign up for an event! (Link in the bio)

#21- Missouri Mountain- 14, 075'
It was Heather and I's second 14er together! We then camped with friends and all I am is grateful! I wouldn't have wanted to spend it any other way. Thank you @hlb_26 for such a great start to a long weekend 🧡
Love.
