I just wanted to take a moment to say how proud I am of my dog, my best friend, and my loyal companion, Happy. ❤️

A couple years ago, I began the journey of creating a children’s show called Happy, Pappy? with the hope of building an ecosystem for safe, meaningful screen time for little ones.

The show, of course, was inspired by Happy.

Every time I looked at him, I could not help but think about how much I learn from his character: his kindness, his fault-covering eyes, his gentleness, his instinct to see everyone as a friend, and, of course, his seemingly endless happiness and contentment.

He has always reminded me of these beautiful words from the Baha’i Writings:

“Therefore, it hath been made clear and manifest that in the animal kingdom also love and affinity are the fruits of a gentle disposition, a pure nature and praiseworthy character.”

— ‘Abdu’l-Bahá

And now, seeing Happy on the set of a show inspired by him feels incredibly special.

I cannot wait for children — and hopefully grown-ups too — around the world to be inspired by a little bit of what Happy has taught me.

For those with little ones, grandchildren, or even those of us adults with forever-young hearts, Happy, Pappy? is for you. ❤️🐾

Thank You, Chicago

A reflection from writer & director @nauzaninknight:

Presenting The Forbidden University at the Friends of Persian Culture Conference in Chicago was one of the most moving experiences I have had with this film.

More than 200 people joined us for our first screening, and by the following afternoon, word of mouth had spread. Over 300 people came for the encore — filling the room to capacity, with people standing and sitting on the floor, and others unfortunately unable to get in.

What moved me most was having former BIHE students and faculty in the audience. Some came to us in tears afterwards and told us, “You captured our experience.” Throughout the film, the audience cheered moments of resilience and triumph — a powerful reminder that this story belongs to a much larger community.

As a filmmaker, there are moments when you are reminded why you made a film in the first place. Chicago was one of those moments. I am deeply grateful to everyone who joined us and helped affirm, together, the fundamental right to education.

Thank you to everyone who attended and made these screenings so meaningful. ❤️

It was an incredibly moving experience presenting The Forbidden University at the Friends of Persian Culture Conference in Chicago.

With an international audience gathered from diverse places and backgrounds, we found common ground in upholding a fundamental human right: the right to education.

It was especially meaningful to have BIHE students and instructors with us in the audience — those whose courage and resilience are at the heart of this story.

We are deeply grateful for the response and cannot wait for our encore screening tomorrow.

What if learning were illegal?

For Iran's Bahá'í community, it is. Barred from universities simply for their beliefs, they built one of their own — in secret. The Forbidden University tells their story.

Our new website is live — and it's not just a place to watch. It's a place to act.

At theforbiddenuniversityfilm.com you can: · Watch the trailer · Find a screening near you — or request one in your city · Become a Protagonist: download ready-to-send letters to representatives, universities, educators, and journalists · Educators & librarians: bring the film to your classroom or campus · Explore the story, the stills, and the press kit

The right to learn belongs to everyone. Link in bio.

🎓 Bring The Forbidden University to your institution.

What happens when an entire community is denied access to higher education?

The Forbidden University tells the remarkable true story of the Bahá’í Institute for Higher Education (BIHE)—an informal network created in Iran to give Bahá’í students access to the education they were denied.

The film opens the door to important conversations about the right to education, human rights, resilience, religious persecution, and the power of knowledge.

Universities, colleges, schools, libraries and organizations can now secure the film through our educational distributor, GOOD DOCS, with options for classroom and library use, institutional streaming, and screenings.

🎬 Bring the film to your campus or community.
