Every vehicle featured in OldtimerCulture #4 is carefully selected.

This is just one of the 100 unique vehicles that will appear in the book.

This edition is dedicated to immortalizing soulful vehicles that have stood the test of time. Through these handmade charcoal sketches, I aim to preserve their character and the roads they’ve traveled, carrying their stories forward through art for years to come. 📖🧑🏽‍🎨

We finally had a cool morning up here at Circle X. There were some new faces & old cars, paired with coffee and pastries. Enjoy the weekend!

Carrera Arroyo 2026
Chinatown to Pasadena

Last Sunday I had a chance to catch part of the fifth annual Carrera Arroyo, a celebration of the Arroyo Seco Parkway, the original freeway, and the car culture that’s grown up around it for generations.

The cruise began in Chinatown before making its way north on the 110 into Pasadena. I caught up with a few familiar faces before making my way to the Grand Avenue overpass, a familiar vantage point overlooking the freeway.

I drive this stretch nearly every day. I know every curve, every bridge, every on-ramp. Standing above it for thirty minutes, watching an endless stream of incredible cars pass beneath me, gave me an entirely different appreciation for a road I’ve known most of my life.

There were air-cooled classics, turbocharged builds, supercharged and big block V8s, even a few V12s. Porsche 911s from just about every generation. And somehow, a Rolls-Royce that fit right in.
Dudes with dogs, couple in coups, families with the top down, waves, nodes, & Revs.
But my favorite part wasn’t any one car.

It was the people.

You could see it on every driver’s face—that childlike grin that only comes from doing something you genuinely love. For a few miles, everyone seemed to forget about work, deadlines, and everything else. It was just the road, the sound of their engines, and the people beside them sharing the same moment.

It also brought back a lot of memories.

My brothers and I all went to the same high school at the base of the 110. I grew up handing them tools while they worked on their cars before heading out to cruise this very freeway. Years later, I found myself standing over the same stretch with a camera in my hand, watching another generation create memories of their own.

A sincere thank you to @makinadriversclub @gsonsunday and everyone who helped organize another incredible Carrera Arroyo.

If you spot yourself or your car, tag yourself.

The celebration marking five years of Automotive Media pursuits continues. These snaps are from the first half of 2021, during our first trips to shoot ACH cars during GVBC. Planning to stop by there today since the weather is set to get nasty 🌧️

And the last photo with @1983_911sc.2 is a favorite as it represents the struggle (struggling with manual focus) and eventually met Tom! A great member of the car community

Two thumbs up from “Ryan & Fong: At the Hospital” 👍👍🎬

Tom’s looking pretty darn good considering he had a stroke on Monday. He’s on a long road to recovery but he’s in a good place with a good team & Jeany (who insisted on the two thumbs and toothy smiles) by his side. Just grateful he’s still with us. We love you Tom. Get well soon! ✨

Back to regularly scheduled driving program 👍 Glad to be in attendance for more GVBC lately. Between road closures, work, and whatever else life may throw, we never these trips for granted. Roughly 30 mins (closer to 21 if you're fast) if you take the foothills of ACH directly to Newcomb's Ranch, it's a drive that never gets old.

Going to #GVBC has been a mixed bag lately 🙏❤️🏁

Emotionally it’s a lot. Some Fridays I don’t feel like going at all but end up pushing through the clouds (figurative and literal). And i’m always glad I did.

Somehow, whatever internal struggle I’m sparing with in the moment fades away to be replaced with smiling faces, warmth, and gratitude.

It’s amazing to be constantly reminded what is so special about this community. Everyone being there for one another. Emotionally invested and supporting one another. It’s remarkable to witness and so heart-warming to receive.

Thank you ACH mountain community. Thank you Los Angeles car community. Thank you GVBC. I love you, ~J
