First I have to start by thanking God for all the opportunities he has blessed me with! Denham Springs Basketball was truly a blessing. Thank you to all of my family and friends for the support thought my career, I couldn’t do it without y’all! A special thank you to my mom and dad for always being there and doing everything y’all could possibly do to make me the man I am today!! Thank you to all of my coaches and teammates for always being there and believing in me! I got to this school as the new guy and never once felt like that, It just felt like family! This community is truly one of a kind and one that I am blessed to be apart of! I have made many life long friendships throughout this journey and can’t wait to see what the lord has in store next!…. 23 out ✌️ “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭7‬ ‭

It has been a fun year watching these guys mold and bond together. Having 3 new transfers and having to build chemistry is a tough task to ask someone to do in just 1 season. It started out rocky but as the year went on bonds were created chemistry was built and trust was earned. I can’t remember the last time we had 5 Division 1 athletes all together on 1 team. Although we came up short history was made with this team. First district championship since Tasmin left. I know yall will be great in college. I will continue to support you all. ❤️‍🔥💪🏾

Sports Talk 225 caught up with Denham Springs star Devin Houston after the game! You could feel the excitement and emotion in the moment as the Yellow Jackets punched their ticket to Lake Charles for the State Tournament! When Stu was asked after the game who the Sports Talk 225 Player of the Game was, the answer was simple: Devin Houston. What made the moment even cooler… the gentleman asking the question turned out to be Devin’s coach from Liberty, and you could see how proud he was hearing that recognition. That’s the kind of full-circle moment that makes covering these student-athletes so special. The interview ended a little early because the team had to run for the team picture, and honestly… some moments are bigger than the interview. But one thing is certain — Devin Houston deserved the shine tonight. Veteran leadership. Big-time performance. Big-time moment. Lake Charles… the Jackets are coming. 🐝 #SportsTalk225 #225Basketball #DenhamSprings #RoadToLakeCharles #PlayerOfTheGame
