Meet our panelist ✨

Sana Siddiqui is an entrepreneur, marketer, and community builder who knows how to turn purpose into real momentum. With a background spanning engineering, product, and marketing, Sana brings a rare blend of strategy, systems thinking, and heart to everything she builds.

Here’s a little glimpse into what goes on behind the scenes at the NC State Fair in Raleigh that draws about a million people each year.

I am reposting this from last year. I have been a vendor at the NCState fair at the Got To Be NC pavilion at Dorton Arena for the past two years for my business @1eatz , this year I decided to sit it out.

As hard as it is to work those long hours with exhaustion, sleepless nights, back-to-back shifts with hardly any breaks. I miss it. I miss interacting with the customers but most of all I miss my vendor friends.

When you work side by side for those long hours, you kinda become like family for a few days. We look out for each other, we share stories, share food, trade our products. It’s like nothing I have experienced elsewhere. Some of these people, I probably wont even see ever again. The last night is always bittersweet, you can’t wait to get home, but its just kind of weird saying good byes.

If you are going to the @ncstatefair this year, please do stop by the @gottobenc pavilion at Dorton Arena and say hello to these small business owners, many of whom make their products by hand and truly appreciate any support they can get from you, even if it’s just kind words.

Small businesses are more than just their products. They’re about people, stories, and big dreams.

It takes guts to go after your dreams, and for some of us, it takes many years to become profitable. Many have other jobs to pay their bills and sustain their businesses. But what we gain is worth more than monetary value.

The biggest reward is knowing that you didn’t sit out your dream. It’s working towards a purpose, the thrill of taking risks, and making genuine friends along the way.

This little world is like no other. I would never have known what this small business/entrepreneur life is like had I not left my corporate career to start @1eatz . It took a lot of courage and hard work, but I have found the type of friendships in this community that I didn’t know existed.

This is very personal to me. Many of these small business owners have supported me in my roughest times, more than my family and friends could, because only they knew and understood the struggles.

I only do selected events for @1eatz , but I make sure never to miss the two annual @gottobenc Events in Raleigh! The GotToBENC Festival and their NC-based business pavilion at the NC State Fair.

This past weekend, the GotToBENC Festival was another beautiful reminder of why I love doing this.

It’s not all about selling products to me. I meet and talk with so many new people and love those returning customers who run to my booth, saying, “I couldn’t wait to see you here!”

The best part for me is meeting my small business friends that I see only once or twice a year at these events but who feel like family to me. As we work long hours side by side, sharing our stories and swapping our products, they become the highlight of these few days for me.

Got To BE NC is an initiative by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture to support homegrown agricultural and food businesses in the area. If you haven’t been to one of these events, you are absolutely missing out on some local goodness.

The next one is the State Fair, with the Got To BE NC pavilion set up inside Dorton Arena. I look forward to seeing you there.

When did @1eatz get the big break? It was two years ago at the Flavors of Carolinas, an upscale, B2B specialty food show sponsored by the NC Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services (NCDA&CS) where North Carolina products are proudly displayed.

It was there that Lydia from @foodlion saw potential in @1eatz Egg Kits and took a chance on us. Today the Egg Kits sit on the shelves of 244 Food Lion stores across three states, and this is just the beginning. 🙌

Yesterday, at the 2024 Flavors of Carolina show, I came full circle, having the opportunity to thank Lydia in person for her incredible support. ❤️

Why you should make these mini egg bites for breakfast.
.
1️⃣ It takes less than 30 minutes and only requires 3 ingredients.

2 eggs
2 teaspoons of water
1 packet of @1eatz egg kit (Any flavor)

2️⃣ Instructions are easy to follow

Preheat oven to 350°F
Pour 1Eatz egg kit into a bowl along with the water.
Mix it together with the eggs
Pour boiling water into a sheet pan to create a water bath
Pour mixture into greased mini muffin tins and place on top of the sheet pan
Place everything in the oven and bake for 25 minutes.
