New exhibition alert! “Spatial Directionality” at ZXY Gallery, Brooklyn!

Bravo to Adam Aslan for curating another great exhibition at his loft and congratulations to all six artists who participated in this remarkable show! A very meta-theme looking at directionality in art - be it in the usage of indexical signs, spatial / conceptual interactions between artworks, and narrative / thematic sequentialism. This show features paintings, sculptural assemblage, and works on paper.

Space and direction are inherent variables serving as markers as records etched in the transient.

They demarcate our lives. They are foundational structures art moves towards and away from.

"In an effort to see our dirty present as a magicking of reality, I am muddying the edges. Across: synthetic and elemental working processes; biotic and abiotic worlds; implicit rationality and explicit serendipity. Drawing from my environment but not necessarily environmental, I aim to combine instinct and logic to form a scientific-human methodology."

Madeleine Young #MadeleineYoung @1perfectshadow (b. 2001) is a Canadian artist and writer who lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. She holds a BFA in Furniture Design from the Rhode Island School of Design and has attended residencies at Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Art Farm Nebraska, The Steel Yard, and Monson Arts.

CIRCLE THINGS AT SITE: GATHERED IN THE ROUND —

On Friday, August 29th, we joined curator @keiesuai for Circle Things, an installation in the East Village shaped by Site, a nomadic curatorial initiative dedicated to experimental, community-driven projects. Across five artists, the exhibition traced how circularity shapes perception, memory, relationships, and space.
