The 2029 850 Tre Mann Elite basketball team made a powerful statement traveling to Cleveland to compete in the Dru Joyce Classic, proudly representing as the only team from Florida. They dominated early, defeating their first five opponents by 20+ point margins and showcasing their high-level talent and chemistry. The championship game, however, told a different story, as they faced a tough TNBA Ohio squad ranked #1 on their circuit and fell behind by as much as 15 points after an early deficit. Despite the challenge, the game was never out of reach. The team refused to hang their heads, instead showing relentless grit, toughness, and heart as they battled back possession by possession. With clutch shots, defensive intensity, and forced turnovers, they took control of the game and never looked back, ultimately securing a 10-point victory. It was a defining performance that highlighted the true character of a team full of dogs.

Two years ago, we lost a bright light in our lives — Deserick “Pooh” Speed — at just 13 years old. His passing left a void that words can’t fill, but his spirit continues to guide and inspire us every day.

Pooh wasn’t just a young athlete with a love for the game — he was one of the hearts behind the starting of the Tally Elite Nets Basketball organization. His energy, joy, and passion helped lay the foundation for a program that has since flourished and grown, touching the lives of countless young players across our community.

In his honor, we are proud to announce that the program is now officially named 850 Tre Mann Elite Nets, carrying forward both his legacy and our continued commitment to excellence, unity, and mentorship.
We miss you deeply, Pooh. We feel your presence in every practice, every game, and every win. Continue to watch over us — we wish you were still here, but we carry you with us always.

I always enjoy looking back at the past season for @brady.gets.buckets. Every year there’s something new and incredible. To go in order, he led Tarpon Springs Middle to a playoff berth and the Final Four while leading the county in PPG and SPG. As he jumped into the AAU season, he did a lot. He competed in Jr. EYBL, Jr. 3SSB, and NxtPro. If you had told anyone in the county that not only would he play on all 3 circuits, but that he’d be one of the top players, no one would’ve listened. He’s become more than a “nice story”, he’s doing it for real.

He made JV and Varsity for @elhshoops this summer and while it’s too early to predict his impact, he showed he belongs on Varsity and is a top player on the JV circuit.

He won rings, trophy, MVP, and all tournament team. He shot over 45% from three in a large majority of his tournaments. He averaged seven assists to every one turnover for the season, including middle school ball, high school ball, AAU ball and shoe circuit ball. He grew into a leader and has become a floor general. He’s over achieved the expectations most had for him and his blown through what most thought he would do, and he’s still rising.

But most of all, he continues to work, continues to be in love with the game and the process, has maintained his high motor and ability to be relentless on the court in pursuit of greatness. We don’t talk much about expectations with him as we want him to have the freedom to be whatever he wants to be and whatever he needs to be on the floor. But what some called crazy a few years ago is now becoming reality as he continues to perform at a high level and chase down the goals that he set for himself.

The season was an introduction for a lot of people, teams, organizations, and circuits and seeing Brady for the first time or perhaps realizing that he has and can continue performing at a high level. Super proud as a dad, as a coach, and as a basketball fan to see the stride he’s taken this year and the greatness that he continues to reach for.

Keep at it BGB.
