Hotpit Autofest Round 4 – Kern Raceway We went into Round 4 with yet another new transmission setup for Jace, with slightly different gearing from Round 3. With every round, we continue to learn, make adjustments, and figure out what works best for Jaces driving style. Jace’s qualifying score was not his best. He was struggling visually to see some of the zones since the chalk had worn off, however, the lower score didn’t affect him at all. At the main event, he advanced through the Top 32 with a win against Alex Q, moving on to the Top 16 against Mike Power. After an OMT decision, he had to battle Mike twice to earn the win and advance into the Top 8! In the Top 8, Jace faced Austin Kregle. Austin put down the stronger chase run and took the win. Jace drove hard, but we were fighting for a little more grip from the car, which made it difficult for him to stay as tight as he needed to in the chase. We couldn’t be more proud of how Jace drove all day. He loves driving, so he makes it look so easy! His entire team was amazing. Special thanks as always to @roccopiazza and family for the support, @good_csoup and @drivenbykayla for ALWAYS being there, and @1wide_gt2 for stepping in to assist for this round. And of course @dat.captures for the footage! And maybe one of the best parts of the weekend the car ran GREAT and we had ZERO issues for the first time. πŸ™Œ With all the changes we’ve been making, that definitely feels like a win in itself.
