🇦🇷A un año de haber marcado historia🇦🇷 Hace un año, en Gold Coast Australia, las Selecciónes Nacionales Open y Juvenil de Salvamento Acuático Deportivo tuvieron, en el Campeonato Mundial @2024lwc , por primera vez en su Cuerpo Técnico a dos Entrenadoras Argentinas. Un hecho que no solo abrió un nuevo capítulo en nuestra historia deportiva, sino también en la construcción de espacios de liderazgo para las feminidades. Desde el año 2000, en 11 mundiales, la Selección no había contado con feminidades liderando el CT. Veinticuatro años pasaron para que, por primera vez, ocuparamos un rol en la conducción técnica del equipo nacional. No fue fácil. Fue el resultado de años de resistencia, preparación, esfuerzo, tiempo, dedicación, compromiso y mil cosas más. Sobre todo, fue un paso firme en un recorrido que no comienza ni termina ahí, que marca la importancia de seguir abriendo puertas y nuevos caminos. Felicitaciones y gracias por acompañarme @maguiboixader SEAN ETERNOS LOS LAURELES QUE SUPIMOS CONSEGUIR🩵 Porque somos entrenadoras, compañeras, colegas, deportistas, profes, guardavidas, referentes, profesionales trabajadoras del deporte y compas de equipo. Cada rol que habitamos deja huella y muestra que las feminidades tenemos voces y un accionar muy valioso⚡ Hoy, queda claro que no fue un camino sencillo, pero sí fue y sigue siendo inmensamente transformador. Ojalá que esta experiencia sirva para preguntarnos: ¿Qué podemos hacer, desde cada lugar, para que más feminidades accedan a espacios de liderazgo en el deporte?

In the 100m Manikin Carry participants only swim 25m before handing off the manikin to their relay member in the 5m transition area in the middle of the 50m pool. If they lose control of the manikin they are disqualified. The second to third person relay handoff in the 100m Manikin Carry is tricky and requires teamwork to properly flip the manikin around for the third swimmer. If they lose control of the manikin they are disqualified. Montana White from @calstatesurfracing and Kelsey Cumming from from @lacountyslsa practicing their relay handoff at the 2024 Lifesaving World Championships. 2025 so far.. 🤙🏼 I left Barclays Bank. My Personal and Business accounts are now with more ethical Banks that are also proving to be way more user friendly too! 🤙🏼 Online meeting with a working group of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) members & reps, to develop an Environmental Physiotherapy Network: for planetary health and sustainable practice. 🤙🏼 Delivered a talk for Plymouth University 3rd year Physio’s- ‘How to ensure a business is sustainable’ as part of their leadership & innovation module. Explaining how I used the free Business Impact Assessment (BIA) from @bcorpuk as my business planning tool. 🤙🏼 @activecornwall Away Day, with board members & staff. Discussing new directions and ways of working & collaborating to better serve the people of Cornwall. The vision: ‘Where inequalities are no longer a barrier to an active life’. 🤙🏼 Did a free talk for neighbouring business @thenook_cornwall open day, on the evolving science of treating (yes treating, not just managing) persistent low back pain, and discussing its multi factorial nature. 🤙🏼 Became a @movewell_uk affiliate. Providing a sustainable choice for rehab, recovery and conditioning tools that are practical to use almost anywhere. 🤙🏼 Had dinner with my Kernow Lifestyle Medicine peers & fellow conference organisers. How nourishing to spend time with like minded professionals with a passion for improving healthcare via the prevention of upstream causes of poor health in Cornwall. Among many topics was the need for better food choices in schools and hospitals (yes- I realise that I’m sat in front of a trifle). 🤙🏼 Meetings with some epic women @getbacktosport for a very exciting collaboration Pilot Study for people on a Total Knee Replacement waiting list. Watch this space… 🤙🏼 Attended the annual @perranporthslsc Dinner Dance, where I got to present local legend @gaisfordpeter with the prestigious ‘Boaty of the Year’ award. In 2024 Pete proved that age is just a number. At 70yrs old he committed to a rigorous strength, swim and rowing training programme to sweep (steer) our Surfboat crew in the Australian world life saving champs!

In the 200m Medley Relay, the third to fourth person relay handoff is critical. The third swimmer in the relay dives in with a buoy and swims it to the other end where they pass it off to the fourth relay member who tows them back to the finish. The third swimmer who is being towed is allowed to kick but they can’t stroke.
