All 5 episodes of The Cost of Living are now out! I’ve been so excited to share this project with everyone, it’s the longest narrative project I’ve shot with a total runtime just over 54mins (not bad for a 7 day shooting block). It’s truly been a labour of love to bring this piece together and I couldn’t be more proud of it so it’s been great to see the positive reception it’s received. A lot of people were fundamental in making this work but I just wanted to give a special shout out to @clancyem for jumping on B cam for the whole series. Giving up a level of control for operating can be daunting especially for a project like this with plenty of zooms and handheld tracking but Clancy was able to put my worries at ease. I really appreciated being able to lean on him when I needed, so thank you man, this format wouldn’t have been possible without you. Also a massive thanks to @melo_keating for trusting me to help tell this story, I couldn’t have asked for a better director to work with, nor a better script! It’s crazy to think that this show is essentially the result of a snowball of ideas that started with a 48hr film back in 2024 but it’s been a great journey nonetheless and you’ve been an awesome collaborator to work with.
