SIMPLE ACTION
SIMPLE DECISION
SIMPLE SHOT

As teachers and learners, let’s continue to help our player SIMPLIFY the decision making process. If the same shot shows itself, and, It just so happens to be YOUR SPOT on the floor, take the same shot that the defense gives you.

DEFENSE IS TAUGHT. INTENSITY IS TRAINED. 🛑🏀

This drill wasn’t created just for conditioning or competition.
It started as a way to compound defensive possessions and incentivize relentless defensive intensity.

Every rep demands:
• Multiple stops in a row
• Intelligence
• Physicality
• Mental toughness
• Zero mental lapses

Over time, it’s done exactly what it was designed to do.

It’s built championship mindsets — players locked in, and committed to becoming disruptive defenders who impact winning even when the shot isn’t falling.

Defense isn’t optional here.
It’s the standard.

Great teams defend possessions.
Championship teams stack them.

⏱️ First 7 Seconds = GOLD

At the college level, transition efficiency is everything. Coaches emphasize creating quality looks before the defense gets set—and that window usually lasts just the first 7 seconds of the shot clock.

For guards, this means two things:
1️⃣ Advance the ball with a pass (hit the wings early).
2️⃣ Race it down yourself for a zero-pass paint touch.

Both force rotations and draw extra help defenders. From there, the game is simple—make the easy play and punish the defense.

🏀 Fast, unselfish, and decisive guards separate themselves in transition.
