Pumpkin bars and pumpkin snickerdoodles (coming tomorrow) on a chilly fall day 🍁
This class is so special to me, and I don’t want to imagine a day when I won’t get to be surrounded by all this sunshine every morning. ☀️ (even if I do threaten bodily harm to some of them when they’re driving me crazy) 😅😇

Senior night was so special. We got a win over CCA, I saw so many of my favorite people, I got to meet lots of my students moms (the best!) and I got to hug so many of my favorite (smelly) seniors 😅 I was especially honored to wear #74, shared with me from a fav student athlete for senior night. Love this group of seniors so, so much ❤️🖤

Incredible game for Senior Night! 🖤❤️
Week 7 vs CCA ✅
We have SO much season left, but a wonderful night to recognize our seniors! I ❤️ this team.

We spent this beautiful weather in the courtyard, breaking in the new Blackstone with a family style cookout.

We learned that we need a second griddle, grilling tools, more courtyard seating, bee repellant, and that everything tastes better when grilled by a man with a towel around his neck 😅

Shout out Rosa for helping me get some photos, and to Cam for coming down to get photos for the yearbook. (And Alameen for bringing the speaker! Very, very important for a cookout)
Thanks to the @iowabeefcouncil for making this possible. 🫶🏽🖤 Many of my students experienced a lot of firsts today! 🍔

1. Pancakes in Foods 1 with 100% success! Even with a random fire drill interrupting the block
2. Then a free cook lab in Culinary Arts, where King Komlan brought ingredients to prepare a sushi bake that was out of this world, and finished it all in the dark in the middle of our lockdown drill 😭👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 👑
3. A lockdown drill with my Advisory kids, while CA finished up their free labs. Alameen made some CRAZY Cookie Monster cookies that were so fun! We had to go into the pantry to get a pic with the lights on.
4. Isaiah had to finish pouring the last of the white chocolate drizzle by flashlight.
What a fun, weird day.
5. Somewhere along the way we acquired Drew? 😭🩵
6. Oh yeah, and we grilled too 😅

We used up the last of our apples and protein bites ingredients from foods 1 to make a caramel apple bar in Culinary Arts. 🍎 (Isaiah got his braces off and I forced him to smile so big in all photos this week. 😁😅)
