🎶 OUT NOW: “Colfax Swamp Blues”

Gabe Mintz & the Sparrows’ debut single featuring Dj Williams, Shawn Eckels, Nate Miller & Jack Marty is officially out!

A gritty, swampy blues-rock track inspired by the raw, unfiltered energy of Denver’s iconic Colfax Avenue, the single channels the spirit of Jimi Hendrix, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf & Leadbelly, with an off-kilter 5/4 groove all its own.

The first taste of the band’s forthcoming self-titled debut album. 🔥

How does one possibly decide between all these shows? 🤯

Thu: San Juan Songwriters Festival kicks off for four days, Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame headliners incl. Kara DioGuardi, all over town. Same night, The Boomroots w/ Mister Kali bring reggae to Animas City Theatre.

Fri: Desert Child is back at Dolores River Brewery. A five-piece Southwest Soul out of Durango, genuinely worth the drive. RADO rolls through Lauter Haus in Farmington, and Mark Farina spins Animas City Theatre.

Sat–Sun: Durango Oktoberfest takes over Buckley Park with beer tents, brunch, and a stacked live lineup both days. Also Saturday: Gabe Mintz & the Sparrows make their NM debut at Lauter Haus (free!), and Pete Giuliani Band plays the Wines of the San Juan Harvest Fest out in Blanco.

Full lineup always at animassound.com 🎶

I've been performing all over the state throughout the summer, so to come home and receive that kind of love was the perfect reminder as to why I'm doing this. Playing in the pavilion at Cheesman with the sun perfectly setting during felt like a movie. Music is the ultimate community builder, and I will forever be grateful to be a part of it. Next stop, NEW MEXICO!! 🏜
