POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This weekend is Round 2 of @zerofighterautocustom Honda OneMake Race & I’m really wishing I could be there, so here’s a few film photos from Round 1🤷‍♂️

Stoked to finally get these photos back, I’ll work on posting them on my film page @35mm_boom over the next few weeks. Got a bunch of shots collected from our recent trip to Vietnam & Japan, as well as other pics from earlier this year.

Good luck to everyone racing this weekend!!

// #35mm story time📸
On this particular night back in Osaka @cindygads and I were out hanging around America Mura, not far from the popular triangle park. It was our second night in town and some of the locals we met the day before had told us that as the night gets later, more cars tend to come out. This definitely proved to be true on that first night as the streets were filled bumper to bumper with all kinds of dope rides. I did enjoy seeing the group of cars that were out that night, but of course I was also really hoping to see some real traditional Kanjozoku (because “when in Osaka__”, right?)

We went back to Ame Mura on that second night, starting a bit later. It was a Saturday night, typically a popular night for locals to cruise but since rain was in the forecast, it was uncertain if there would be any turnout.

We were sitting on some ledges along the street by the shopping area for what felt like ages. Maybe about 2 nice #JDM rides passed by, but no Hondas. @jdmcarotaku and his buddy @yuyaexplorer kept us company for awhile, which was much appreciated but eventually @cindygads and I were about ready to call it a night. At 11:55pm, we said our “ja mata ne’s” and we were on foot back to our room.

Then just as we had made our way a few yards down, we heard it. Not even 5 minutes had passed as the sound of straight-piped B-series exhaust tones came bouncing off the walls surrounding the narrow city streets.

@cindygads immediately started running back towards the park and I followed, as if I was running from a fire.

It was exactly midnight as the pack of freshly-wrapped Civics made their presence known, pulling off along the street just before the toll entrance to the Loop.

After I gained my nerves back, I went over to introduce myself and to get a better look at the battle-ready Civics. It took a moment to warm up the conversation but eventually we were all chatting, joking around and getting to know each other. A few minutes later, they were back in their cars, rocketing off into the abyss.

Glad we hadn’t wandered too far or we would’ve missed out on one of our favorite nights of that trip. You really never know how a late night can go in Osaka🌙
