UMOJA Basketball Academy is about more than basketball.

It’s about creating a space where our youth can show up, feel safe, be seen, and be poured into.

Yes, we develop skills.
But we’re also building confidence, character, connection, and community.

Because sometimes a young person doesn’t need another lecture.

They need someone to say:

“I see you. I believe in you. You matter.”

That’s UMOJA.

We don’t just develop athletes.
We develop people.

THIS WAS NEVER JUST ABOUT CAMP. 🖤

It was about our youths asking,
“Are we having camp this year?”

It was about parents and caregivers trusting us with what matters most.

It was about coaches showing up.

Volunteers giving their time.

Board members believing.

Partners saying, “We’re with you.”

And a community reminding us that when we create the space, our youth will show up.

To every youth and parent/caregiver who entrusted us to be a part of your journey:

YFLM Collective is a luxury natural hair and loc studio proudly serving clients across Ajax, Oshawa, Pickering, Whitby, and the Durham Region.

Through her work, Michelle continues to uplift her community, mentor youth, and show the next generation that their dreams are achievable through dedication, belief, and perseverance. She is passionate about sharing her journey to inspire young people to pursue their goals with confidence and purpose.
