1 year ago I dropped my “FREE BURGUNDY” mixtape After a 6 year hiatus from music, then dropping a conceptually dense, self-produced, life story album in 2024… I just wanted to have fun again. Showcase certain sides of my artistry and lean into aspects and restrictions I haven’t done in the past. Now Burgundy is Free to do whatever he wants after this. Thank you for riding with me. This past year was hella fun. If you have a favorite song or visual from tha tape, lemme know in tha comments!!! Today marks the 2 year anniversary of my 2nd album ‘Lucid Kids Never Die’ Today I listened to it all the way through for the first time in a long time, and it truly felt like I was watching a movie about someone who I once knew very well and am glad he just made it out of the mental prison he was trapped in. I’m grateful that I was able to tell my story in the most raw, authentic, dense, and immersive way and it resonates with people from my city, to all the way around the world, who all happened to find it at the right place and time. I could go on for hours on how special this body of work is to me, how layered the symbolism and genius the skits are, how transcendent and unparalleled the production is, the transitions, the intentionality of every sample, the axiomatic lyricism, and why I believe it’s a top 50 hip-hop album of all time — but I made it for me, so I’m slightly biased. Do not take my word for it. If you’re reading this, you’re a real one. If you’ve listened, I’d love to know what your favorite songs are, or favorite moments, or even small details, interpretations, or easter eggs you’ve discovered along the way. If you haven’t listened yet, get some headphones, turn the lights off, and get lost in a sonic journey about the most essential story ever told. What’s mine is yours. Thank you to everyone that played a part in bringing this album to life, and thank you to everyone that gives it life and new meanings with every listen. I love you.

You see this fit and you may think… this is a dope look. 🔥 Let me break it down so the people in the back can understand my art: The 90s, the hair, the fit. This is lineage. The 90s gave us the blueprint. Black creativity unapologetically taking up spaces. Block parties were community squares before we had social media platforms. They were where we gathered, celebrated, and reminded each other who we are. This fit is a nod to my culture. The culture that raised all of us! This block party was supposed to be a moment of joy for the people. Annnnddddd everything that could go wrong… did go wrong! Equipment, location, timing, all completely fell apart. It would have been SUPER easy to pack it up and call it a loss. We are not built for easy, we are resilient! We pulled it off because that is what we do! We make something out of nothing. We turn struggle into celebration. We show up for each other when the system shows us we are completely on our own. We brought together local artists, creatives, and LA locals to celebrate, because this land and this city belong to those who have been holding it down LONG before corporations tried to cash in. FASHION IS RESISTANCE! MUSIC IS RESISTANCE! LANGUAGES ARE RESISTANCE! ART IS RESISTANCE! CLOWNS ARE RESISTANCE! JOY IS RESISTANCE! We will not be erased. We will not stop gathering, celebrating, and fighting for each other. Shout out to @disconnect.foundation for connecting for this event with me. We did that. Together. 💪🏽 Put that in your record books… I said that. #blockparty #people #fun #gather #happiness

Spooky Solidarity may have been small in turnout, but it was powerful in spirit. A huge thank you to Treloquence, who delivered one of the most moving and impactful performances of the night. Their energy, honesty, and artistry reminded us why community spaces like this matter. Thank you to everyone who showed up, supported, donated, or performed. We’re still here — fighting for care, creativity, and solidarity. 🖤✨
