✨ Two homes. Two lives. One beautiful new chapter.

When this lovely couple decided to blend their lives and belongings into one charming South Minneapolis bungalow, the goal wasn’t to start over. It was to bring everything together and make it feel like home.

With a fresh color palette, carefully sourced rugs, custom window treatments, and a little creative zhuzhing, we gave their existing treasures new life.

The result? A warm, colorful, collected home filled with personality, character, and pieces that tell their story.

Sometimes the biggest transformations aren’t about buying everything new. They’re about seeing the beauty and potential in what you already have. ❤️

Would you have taken a chance on this “before”? 🥹🏡 Swipe through before you decide!

About five years ago, I bought eight abandoned apartments in Minden, Louisiana, with a dream of giving them a second chance. Today, you can actually stay in the transformation. 💛

Meet our Laura Villa at The Villas at Spanish Court, a historic property dating back to 1931 that now welcomes guests for a cozy Louisiana getaway.

These before and after photos make the renovation look so simple. If only you could swipe through the actual work that quickly! 😂 Behind every finished space were countless decisions, some rookie mistakes, and a whole lot of determination.

But this is why I love historic preservation. We get to honor what came before us while making room for new memories. A place that once sat empty can become the setting for someone’s girls weekend, anniversary trip, or much needed small town escape.

If you love home renovation, vintage charm, and a stay with a story, Laura might just be your next getaway. ✨

This little corner of Minden was worth saving. I hope these photos remind you to look for the possibility in the places around you, too.

Comment BOOK and I’ll send you the link to The Bright Side of the Other Side to read more about this historic renovation, plus the link to book your stay and a discount code to use when you reserve! 💛

Here is my 3 month review of the custom dual roller shades from @3dayblinds

Solar and room darkening in one unit. The schedule runs itself, up 45 minutes after sunrise and down at 9:22pm, but what I did not expect is how much I use the manual control. Some mornings I drop every solar shade and leave the room darkening up. Some days I want the middle window open and the left and right down. Each one moves on its own from the remote, my voice, or the app.

Probably my favorite upgrade in the apartment.

An extreme fixer upper. Seeing this Victorian home come to life room by room has been a dream come true. Details are my favorite part so we partnered with @3dayblinds to create all the drapes & shades for our home.

The holidays have a way of sneaking up on us.

If new window treatments are on your list before guests arrive, now is the time to start planning.

Custom draperies from @3dayblinds take a little time — from selecting fabrics and finishes to measuring, ordering and installation — and starting early means you get to enjoy the process instead of rushing.

But don’t worry if you procrastinate - we still have blinds and shades that can be delivered to our local warehouse in 3 days!

So whether you’re in a rush or you’ve planned ahead, we’ve got you covered!

DM **HOLIDAY** if you’d like to start planning your space.

EKKKK. New office nook. 🙏🏼❤️ Feeling very at peace and motivated typing away in this special corner! Called upon my @3dayblinds team who is basically on speed dial at this point and had them install these gorgeous velvet electric Roman shades for the finishing touch. OBSESSED is an understatement. #ad

Our @3dayblinds automated roller shades and drapes have been an absolute GAMECHANGER for our home 😭🙌🏽

The blinds keep our home shielded from the blistering heat of summer ☀️🥵(& they help keep our AC from working so hard 😅) while keeping the warmth in during the cooler months 🥶👏🏽 & that automation is 👩🏻‍🍳💋🤌🏽 …literally my favorite investment we’ve made for our home! 🥹
